Yesterday afternoon, David and I made our way to Las Vegas, NV for a couple of days primarily to see Kylie Minogue end her Aphrodite Live 2011 North American tour at the Colosseum inside Caesar’s Palace Hotel and Casino last night. We are staying at the absolutely FABULOUS Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas Hotel and Casino and have been having the time of our lives. I”m not a big LV fan, but our accommodations have more than made up for my previous preconceived notions about Sin City.
We arrived in LV early enough in the day to enjoy some of the wonderful surroundings here at the Cosmopolitan. Before the show, David and enjoyed a sumptuous dinner at Jaleo by José Andrés. David and I are big fans of Spanish tapas dining and we were treated to an absolute feast of deliciousness. The empandas featured above was only one small part of our amazing meal. LOVE LOVE LOVED our meal … I can’t even tell you. A few Pink readers have messaged me of their love of the original Jaleo in Washington DC and I can attest, this place is just as good.
After dinner, we made our way to the Colosseum to see Kylie perform her last tourstop of the North American version of her Aphrodite Live 2011 Tour:
We managed to get really AMAZING seats so we were close to the Kylie action all night long. It was just too perfect seeing Kylie‘s goddess-inspired show inside the Colosseum. It was the perfect way to end her tour. Much love goes out to all the Pink readers that I met at the show … it was a pleasure meeting you all. What a fantastic night … we had a blast!
I think we may keep things quiet tonight … we have one more night here at the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas to enjoy and I’m really looking forward to enjoying our new home away from home :D

Gah, I’m so jealous! Kylie is fantastic, and I’m so sad her only Canadian stop is Montreal (which is really, really far away from where I live). I’d love to see her perform. Lucky!
I’ll second The Cosmopolitan—my hubby and I stayed there a few days back in February and it was probably the best hotel experience I’ve ever had. Beautiful room overlooking the Bellagio fountains, great dining, and incredible staff. The spa was a great add-on for our trip as well so I highly recommend that.

I’m going to Vegas on Friday for the weekend, my first time ever! I hope it’s going to be just as good of a time as you had. We’re staying at the Wynn, and I will definitely have to try out Jaleo!

Trent I was there and met David! haha, I think he must have thought I was some nutter because I ran up to him and said hi, is your name David?? He kind of looked at me like I was crazy (it COULD have been the toga) but we talked for awhile and he’s so sweet and nice!!! Hope you guys enjoyed the show! I was w/ my friend Mark and we had our pictures and video taken by someone from Kylie’s show. We got to say hi and welcome to Vegas. Mark says to keep an eye out on Youtube…. The guy from Kylie’s show (mark recognized him from London) asked us if we’d been photographed and videoed yet and if not we needed to be so he went off to get the photographer. What an amazing night!

I know, I was kind of keeping an eye out for you without being stalkerish hoping we could meet! Another time, I’m sure! And David, like I said, was so gracious. I think I was so hyper by that point I may have scared him a bit!!! Now I’m back to hearing my daughter complain that we’re out of milk and asking me to stay up late to wash her jeans.. I have the memories tho! haha!
Trent, it was great meeting you and David at the Vegas show. It was a real treat after coming all the way from Boston. Sitting next to Halle at the Bowl and then running into you both. Best!
Trent, I’m so glad I finally got to meet you after reading your blog for years. My friend dragged me over because I was to shy by telling me I’d regret it later if I didn’t say hi. Kylie just wrapped up her Aphrodite Singapore 2011 three hours ago. Show and costumes were AMAZING! :)
