Earlier today we got our first look at the new Draco Malfoy poster released to promote the final Harry Potter film The Deathly Hallows – Part 2. As soon as I shared the poster, a few Pink reader were wondering when we might see the character poster for Severus Snape … and as if the folks at Warner Bros. were listening, the Snape poster was released. Check it out below.

Ah Snape … for so long, we were meant to hate this man. His horrible mistreatment of Harry Potter coupled with his seeming treachery made him the perfect, loathsome character to abhor … and then we found out what a true hero he was all along. JK Rowling is a masterful storyteller primarily because of the care she takes in developing her characters. Of all the Harry Potter characters, I think I honestly love Snape the most. Sure, it’s easy to love Harry, Hermione, Ron and a host of others … but to think of all the secrets Snape had to hide in order to serve the greater good … it’s difficult to not admire him. I was always very touched with the way the adult Harry Potter honored Snape in the epilogue of the final book. This is a great poster, for a great Harry Potter hero.

Finally bought the HP Empire magazine…so excited to sit down and read it!
I’m going to cry like a baby at the theater. Snape is my favorite too.
To me Snape didn’t exactly do it all for the greater good, not even for Harry. He did it because of Lily and only her.
The poster looks awesome. Love Rickman as Snape.
Love Snape. Such a developed, complex character. Will be bawling hysterically when his end comes.
Meghan…I could not agree with you more. I love Snape’s character i liked him then hated him and end up loving him. I even started reading a little of the DH over the weekend and I actually start to get very emotional. July 15th is going to be so sad. I think I have to take off work that day.
I wonder if we could mount a write in campaign for Rickman to get an long deserved Oscar for this role.
He so totally embodied this character right from the very beginning and has taken the role to levels I never dreamed of.
Love Him So Hard…..
Sign me up he get’s my vote. He was Snape through and through. He acted exactly as JK describe in the book.
I have enduring love for Alan Rickman. He is forever one of those actors who is holding up movies (no one will ever outdo his line in Bob Roberts: “Excuse me, I have to go pray”) and is never acknowledged for being a genius. Right up there with Kathy Bates, Sandra Oh, and Greg Kinnear–amazing actors who aren’t big celebrities with swollen paychecks and yet should be for all the AMAZING work they do.
Sign me up! I love Rickman in the role of Snape. Perfect.
Hoping next we will see a Bellatrix poster. That poster will be amazingly EVIL. Can’t wait for the movie to come on.
YAY!!!!!! I’m so full of hooray right now!! I’ll be sobbing my eyes out when his big reveal happens.
Why is it that sometimes I think God approached Alan Rickman and Greg Kinnear and offered the world, and they just chose to be really interesting instead?
Epilogue, Trent?
@Heather — Ugh, whoops! Thanks … that was very dyslexic of me :(
