Last weekend we learned that Sarah Michelle Gellar‘s new TV series Ringer will air this Fall on The CW (rather than CBS) and today we learn that the show will be seen on Tuesday nights … the very same night that Buffy the Vampire Slayer aired when it was on TV. We also get to check out the first batch of official promo photos for the show. Get your first look at Ringer below.

Annnnnd… the annual, whirlwind upfronts week begins winding down now with The CW’s announcement of its plan for the 2011-12 TV season. The highlights: Sarah Michelle Gellar’s much-awaited return to television finds her on a very familiar night. Ringer will air 9/8c on Tuesdays, the same night Buffy the Vampire Slayer staked claim to during its run on CW predecessor The WB.

I’m a bit bummed that Ringer won’t be on CBS because that network obviously has a bigger audience, but SMG found great success on The WB (which became The CW) and I’m certain she can find that same success again. These Ringer promo photos are kinda cool … I love the window reflection photo. I can’t wait to see more.
