President Obama Releases His Long Form Birth Certificate
Born In The USA

For years, well before he was elected president of the United States of America, critics (ie. conservative politicians in this country) have been making the ridiculousness claim that President Barack Obama should NOT be president of this country because they do not believe that he was born in the US and is, therefore, ineligible to be president (our federal constitution stipulates that a person MUST be naturally born on US soil to become president). Despite the fact that President Obama issued a copy of the short form version of his birth certificate during the 2008 Presidential election, his detractors STILL have not been convinced that he is US natural born. Today, in an effort to finally END the ridiculous controversy, the White House has issued the long form version of President Obama‘s birth certificate putting to rest AT last the controversy.

President Obama posted a copy of his “long-form” birth certificate from the state of Hawaii, hoping to finally end a long-simmering conspiracy theory among some conservatives who asserted that he was not born in the United States and was not a legitimate president. The birth certificate, which is posted online at the White House Web site, shows that Mr. Obama was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, and is signed by state officials and his mother. “The President believed the distraction over his birth certificate wasn’t good for the country,” Dan Pfeiffer, the White House communications director, wrote on the Web site Wednesday morning. “It may have been good politics and good TV, but it was bad for the American people and distracting from the many challenges we face as a country” … The contention that Mr. Obama was not born in the United States, and therefore did not meet the constitutional requirement for election as president, has been around for years and has long been refuted. But it has recently gained public attention after Donald Trump, the real estate mogul, repeatedly raised questions as he explores whether to run for president. Mr. Pfeiffer said in the statement on the site that the president authorized officials in Hawaii to release the document broadly. In July of 2009, Robert Gibbs, the White House press secretary at the time, dismissed the “made-up fictional nonsense of whether or not the president was born in this country.” But the so-called birther controversy continued, as evidenced by polls that suggested large numbers of people said they were not confident that Mr. Obama was in fact born in the country. Many of the doubters suggested that Mr. Obama could not produce the “long-form” birth certificate because they assumed it did not exist. The White House decision to produce the document is an effort to disprove those accusations.

I love my country very much and I am always very proud of what we stand for … but it’s stuff like this that really embarrasses and saddens me. Questions over President Obama‘s birth are nothing more than racism, pure and simple. I don’t care what anyone says, I honestly believe that if President Obama were white, there would NEVER EVER have been accusations that he was not born in this country. Even after his birth certificate was released today, conservative news channel Fox News is running a headline that read something like “President Obama releases what it claims to be his long form birth certificate”. Without question, detractors will try to find a way to discredit this document … it’s absolutely absurd! The PDF of Obama‘s birth certificate can be downloaded HERE. I honestly don’t even know what to say about something as silly as this … but sometimes, American politics can be silly. The release of this document will not quell the controversy completely (because detractors and right wing crazies will never stop their attacks) but at least I hope it will allow the sane people in this country a chance to move on to more important issues plaguing our country today.

I don’t understand the big deal. Everyone that runs for office must have a copy of their birth certificate on file. However, Obama did not. If it isn’t a secret show it. And as far as it being racism really!!!! get a life. Just show the certificate and be done with it. Seems Obama is keeping it in the press by not showing or having a copy on file years ago when he started running.

@dottie — I don’t know why it’s so difficult to understand. He showed his birth certificate in 2008. He was not only elected by the US people but he was confirmed for the office when he was sworn in. He did show the certificate and was done with it … it’s crazy right wingers who couldn’t let the issue go.

      “However, Obama did not.”

Did you put any research into your opinion before you formed it?

    • Damari says:

Wrong!!!Every president does not have to have a copy of their birth certificate on file. No president (ever) in the U.S. has have to show their birth certificate. It only starts with this president. If you did any research you would find out how flawed and weak your statements are. The fact is he showed his certificate in 2008 when no other president in the history of the U.S. had shown theirs. Yet he is still talked about as being a non-citizen.

I think the whole thing is backward. Who cares where he is born so long as he’s an American citizen now? Thank goodness we Australians aren’t that ridiculous in our thinking. I love your country, have visited quite a few times and have many great friends there, but sometimes I shake my head at your ideals for some things.

The stir it up a bit – he is the President and is highly likely of pulling something like this off if he wanted.

    Just sayin’

But yeah, maybe they should focus on his (poor) actions than birthplace!

Well first, I’m pretty sure the whole birth certificate thing was started by hilary clinton in the primaries and not the republicans. I could be wrong (too lazy to look it up), but i remember hearing it first from her in a press conference.

Secondly, with that being said, If i was Obama, I wouldn’t show a gosh darn thing. I lose respect for anyone who brings up the whole birth certificate and that only helped Obama’s case. So i would let them stir in their tin foil hats until the end of time. I guess he’s a better person than me and that’s probably why he’s president and i’m not…LOL

This is so off topic of the birth certificate (btw I agree with Trent) but it bothers me so much to read comments like the one’s Dollhouse made. I hope those comments were not directed at Trent. Obviously Dollhouse is not a regular PITNB reader. Even so, a few moments of research would save him/her from making jackass comments such as “you are probably some college kid who doesn’t own anything and has never had to deal with real political issues because they have never applied to you. you are probably living off of mommy and daddy’s money, or off the government’s money and have taken a poli-sci class and now think you actually know a thing or two about real life.” Ugh. Trent, I love your blog & have mad respect for the way you present your opinions in a classy way.

I understand that not every American is a Republican/idiot. But the fact that Americans allow their country to be this incredibly stupid is just embarrassing. The United States is pathetic.

  7. Diane says:

I see people have conveniently forgotten that the original “racist birther” who raised the question of Obama’s birth location was Hillary Clinton during her campaign. Go ahead & research it.

  8. ANNNNNNOOOYYYED! says:

RACISM! THERE IS RACISM BECAUSE OF PEOPLE LIKE YOU THAT ARE ALWAYS BRINGING IT UP! THE REASON FOR THE QUESTIONING IS BECAUSE OF HIS ACTIONS ALONG WITH HIS NAME..IT DOESNT MATTER IF HE WAS BLACK WHITE YELLOW GREEN OR PURPLE IT STILL WOULD BE AT QUESTION.. I GET SO SICK OF HEARING ABOUT RACISM! GET OVER IT PEOPLE NO ONE CARES ABOUT WHAT EVERYONES ANCESTORS DID TO THE OTHERS! NO ONE LIVING TODAY HAD ANYTHING TO DO ABOUT IT SO LET IT BE.. THERE ARE A LOT MORE IMPORTANT THINGS GOING ON THEN TO BE CONSTANTLY THROWING RACISM IN THE AIR!

    • Deanna W says:

@Annnnnnoooyyyed! What reason did the media/Trump/citizens have for asking to see a public viewing of Obama’s Birth Certificate? Give me one legitimate reason why Obama is the only president to be made to perform this validating task for all to see…? I am a white female and I think this is racism…and with as many advances we have taken against racism, there is still so much further we have to go with it.

People will say over and over, it is not racism… yet I have not heard one good reason on why they think Obama has been treated differently…. Would love to hear one though.

  9. Satty says:

    Shut the fuck up

  10. Deanna W says:

The fact that you think Obama did NOT have to show proof of being born in America, only shows your ignorance. Do you think just anybody can walk into that position and then at a later date they decide to check it? Thats absurd.

The fact that you buy into all the conspiracy theorists only further proves your ignorant to me… But thanks, I needed a good laugh. Ever considered stand-up? What else do you have?
