As the US cast of MTV‘s The Jersey Shore prepares to take their show on the road to Italy for filming this Summer, MTV UK is readying the premiere of the UK version of Jersey Shore. Geordie Shore was filmed in the Northeast part of the UK known as Newcastle … which is right on the beach. A cursory look at the cast makes it seem like Geordie guys and girls are really the British cousins of the gorilla juicehead guidos and guidettes here in the US. MTV cameras will follow some of Newcastle’s finest lads and lasses, as we sneak a peek into their glamorous lives and party lifestyles. From the city that gave us Cheryl Cole, Ant & Dec & Gazza, meet the real Angels Of The North as the girls strut their stuff in mini-skirts shorter than their belts, whilst the guys pump iron at the gym and drink more vodka shots than Newcastle Brown Ale.
LOL. I’m not gonna lie … I am really looking forward to watching this show … it’ll be nice to poke fun at some Brits rather than have the entire world poke fun and laugh at us Americans. I think my fave castmember has to be Jay, the dude who likes to show off his nipples (click HERE for longer cast bios and names). Are you ready for the Geordie Shore? As much as i feel this show is just gona be a rip off of jersey shore, i will watch it! And yes, they look like they got carbon copies of the jersey shore cast, buts that really how SOME people dress in newcastle.
I hope they film in winter, You can’t get english people to cover up on a night out no matter how cold it gets!
One thing i think will be different is that i highly doubt the geordie cast will get as famous as the jersey cast!
Unfortunately, there are far too many people who look, talk and act like this in the UK. We call them “chavs.” They’re the UK version of white trash. Expect these people to go “on the pull” (aka dtf) quite often with a litre of Strongbow (cider) in hand. There will be lots of fake tans, gaudy gold jewelry and Burberry as well. Oi….what a mess. A fun mess nonetheless;)
I thought chavs look exactly like Vicky Pollard and they look more like copies of Jersey Shore cast. Anyway is this show for real or is it just a joke?

Agreed. I’m from the west midlands and everyone always votes us as having the worst accent in the country but at least you can always understand what I’m saying!
I watched the video [above] and though I tried very hard to listen, I did not understand one word. The show looks hilariously fun, let’s hope it’s closed captioned!!!!
I’m from Newcastle, and I can’t wait to see this!! Hopefully people won’t typecast Newcastle that we all look/act the way the cast do, though not all of the cast are actually from Newcastle. They have been filming for a weeks, my friend was out in Whitley Bay and saw the film crews and the cast on the Bank Holiday Monday.
I have a feeling MTV will probably put subtitiles on specially for the US auidence :)
