Mariah Carey Bares Her Baby Bump On The Cover Of ‘Life & Style’ Magazine
'All About the Babies"

Last week we got to see a supercute personal photo shared by Mariah Carey of her colorfully decorated baby bump. Today we get another look at Mimi‘s beautiful belly which she bares on the cover of the new issue of Life & Style magazine. Mimi gives the exclusive interview and photospread to L&S so that she can GUSH about the coming birth of her twin babies — a girl and a boy. Check out Mariah‘s Life & Style coverphoto below and read some deets from her new coverstory.

Mariah Carey has posed for her fair share of portraits, but none has been as personal or emotional as these exclusive belly-baring snaps. Mere days away from welcoming her first and second child, Mariah proudly showed off her pregnant body to Life & Style. “I was feeling very vulnerable about taking pictures at all right now, but then I didn’t want to miss this opportunity to document this once-in-a-lifetime experience,” Mariah exclusively tells Life & Style. “My ultimate goal was to share this incredibly personal moment with my true fans.” And the twins — a boy and a girl — were clearly ready for their closeups. “The babies were kicking almost the entire time; it was unbelievable,” Mariah tells Life & Style. “Especially the girl — clearly she’s a diva in training! We didn’t start shooting until 1:30 a.m. because I was in the hospital from the night before until the day of the shoot with contractions five minutes apart!” Indeed, although Mariah’s not due for a few weeks, the twins could be making their grand entrance sooner rather than later. Contractions sent mom to the hospital on March 27. But for now, Mariah and soon-to-be-dad Nick Cannon are simply reveling in their twin bliss! And Nick says he is more attracted to his wife than ever. “I thought I couldn’t love Mariah more,” he tells Life & Style. “But I have a whole new appreciation and admiration for her.” Mariah adds, “Now I have so much respect for mothers everywhere, especially those who’ve had difficult pregnancies or given birth to multiples. We need to have Mother’s Day once a week!”

Wow! Mariah looks amazing! She looks SO ready to birth dem babies … I’m sure the twins will be born any second now. I understand that this issue of Life & Style hits newsstands on Friday and it’s deffo an issue worth picking up. I am so anxious to see the rest of the photos … but wouldn’t it be amazing if Mimi gave birth before the mag hits stands this week? She looks so beautiful, don’t she?

Sorry Trent, got to disagree with you, this is kind of yuck!

    • Trent Trent says:

@Meghan — Why do you say that? What is “yuck” about a pregnant woman?

      • Meghan says:

I really don’t understand the celebrity obsession with being photographed pregnant and naked. Just a personal opinion, but I don’t think this is attractive.

      • Trent Trent says:

@Meghan — I don’t think it’s necessarily a “celebrity obsession”. Obvs I can’t ever know what it must be like but I’ve heard mothers say that being pregnant is such a magical experience. I think it’s something to celebrate. Pregnant women glow with sheer beauty, IMHO.

      • Spice says:

Meghan, I think it’s lets about look at me I’m beautiful and more about such amazing thing that happens with the body. She has human beings inside of her – how crazy cool is that and it can only happy to a woman. It’s just a wonderful state that isn’t something that happens to that person very often (with a few execeptions out there) that to capture it and remember it must be a cool and natural feeling.

      • perdiz says:

its not a “celebrity obsession” lots of mothers get themselves photographed when they are pregnant, often times without clothes. i think she looks beautiful.

    • Virginia Virginia says:

It’s not a celebrity thing honestly. Most women get pictures like this. There’s nothing more magical in life than MAKING a life. Kudos to her for loving this time, and sharing it with us is pretty special. :)

    • Margie says:

It’s a moment in time, just like all photos, that they want treasured.

    • ausettofegypt says:

pregnancy is a beautiful thing, show it off, love it, remember it and cherish it. and if your lucky enough to be as beautiful as Mariah, flaunt it!

  2. Virginia Virginia says:

Trent, I think she looks AMAZING. She’s glowing. I know when I was that far along with my babies I didn’t look that good! Kudos to her. It’s cool to see she has the “mommy line” too. :) But they photoshopped her belly button away. lol. Guaranteed it’s pokin out. She had a bandage over it in her last photo. Can’t blame her tho, that hurts like a mofo!

Either way it goes, she looks stunning. I love seeing pregnancy photos like these. It’s such a magical time!

    • Meghan says:

I think they photoshopped way more that just her belly button out of this. I think it is heavily photoshopped. I guess I’m just not on board the pregnancy is beautiful train. I have never been pregnant.

      • Virginia Virginia says:

Ahhh, give it time then. Once you become pregnant and watch your body change, you’ll change your mind. :) My body has never been as beautiful as when I was pregnant. (Which I am again now.)

  3. sarahhh sarahhh says:

love it! she’s glowing, looks generally happy, & of course looks amazing.

  4. Kristi says:

As a woman, I never felt as attractive as when I was pregnant. My growing belly always amazed me! Taking pics of yourself during pregnancy is a personal thing. Some choose to do it, some don’t. My best friend actually has a photography business that pretty much specializes in pregnancy pics – which IMHO are ALL beautiful. So I don’t think it’s a “celebrity obsession” in any way when you see it done in small town America! But I do understand that everybody is entitled to their own opinion. I don’t understand, however, why it’s considered “yuck”.

  5. JoAnn says:

    She looks amazing.

  6. nicole nicole says:

i love the mommy glow!! she looks fantastic.
i know if i ever get pregnant, there will tons of pics of my belly!

  7. Baybridget says:

I feel like she’s been pregnant for ever!! I guess because all the rumors started so long before she was ever actually pregnant. So happy for her and Nick!!

  8. Kelly says:

I love lots of pregnancy photos, but I don’t like these. The angle, the lighting, it’s pretty unattractive. Her hair is the same color as her skin. I think she should be sitting in a big flowy bed holding her belly. This picture just makes her look like a whale. *i know* *i know* women get bigger when pregnant, and I’m sure she feels huge, but why have pregnancy photos that accentuate the gross? The posing is just flat out wrong.

    • Meghan says:

I agree. Maybe that is what I don’t like about this, it’s just a bad photo. Don’t like the angle at all. I thought Britney Spears looked MUCH better in her bare all pregnant photos. I don’t think Mariah looks good and it looks too photoshopped.

    • Velaine says:

I’m gonna agree with you here. I don’t like the picture. I totally get the whole “feeling beautiful when you’re pregnant” deal, but the lighting and coloring are less than flattering. Also, what is with that drab grey background? I’m also gonna hate on the nude pregnancy shot, mostly because people take these pictures (with the occasional naked husband included) and then display them in their home like it’s art. I don’t like it. Don’t understand it. A belly baring top would have shown off her pregnancy and beauty just fine.

  9. Capt. Crunch Jr. says:

What does she mean “especially the girl”? Has Mariah developed x-ray vision?

    • fab4runner fab4runner says:

She probably knows which side each baby is on.

    • Christopher says:

Babies that are not identical twins have their own bags they live in. I am sure they know which baby is in what part of her womb. They don’t just rotate like a carousel. LOL.

I think she looks stunning. For being pregnant with twins to be able to have the courage to be so vulnerable and pose this way on a magazine cover is amazing. She is doing this to share this moment with her TRUE Fans. That is something that could be kept private but she is a proud mother-to-be and she shoudl be.

  10. msxbella21 says:

For being pregnant with twins she looks awesome. Saying she looks like a whale is ridiculous and rude. Some women pregnant with just one baby are 2 or 3 times bigger than this. Any pregnant women creating a miracle with her body does not deserve any of this criticism! Funny thing is the people who don’t like it have probably spent the most time checking out the picture and wasted the most time by being critical of it. If you have this much to complain about a beautiful aspect of nature I would hate to see all the crazy nonsense you complain about on a daily basis…sad!

    • Kristi says:

Good point – she looks like me at 7 months pregnant! How does she have twins in there?

    • Kelly says:

having a child is not a miracle. you do it yourself in nine months. all by yourself. saying she looks huge is rude, yes, but it is not ridiculous because it’s true.

for the record, you and i spent about the same amount of time discussing this picture, so your assertion that those critical have wasted time while you haven’t is unfounded. the fact that you complain about people having an opinion different from your own says more about your complaining nature than it does about my own. i just have an opinion about tastefulness of this photoshoot, which i feel could have been kicked up a notch with more professional lighting and a better pose.

      • msxbella21 says:

are you really that stupid! having a child is a miracle! you don’t do it yourself! so if you woke up today and said oh i’m going to be pregnant then you would just be pregnant…that really would be a freaken miracle because no woman has ever done that especially by herself. it is ridiculous to say she is huge because she has 2 babies in there and is a lot smaller than most women who have 1…is she supposed to have a six pack on her abs? i didn’t waste my time checking out the picture or complaining about it. i did waste my time reading many of the uneducated and RIDICULOUS responses and wasted even more time setting your idiotic comments straight. you are a sad chick who obviously knows nothing about the female body or what is or means to grow a child. maybe you can take a sex ed class at your local hospital or college…you def need one!

      • Kells says:

@msxbella21 OMG thank you for posting that reply! my heart was pounding just reading her post! As someone who has birthed 3 babies I can deffo attest that I didn’t make ‘em on my own! I just went through a 2 year attempt at fertility treatments to ultimately come out of it unsuccessful so her comment was pretty hurtful even tho I know it wasn’t aimed at anyone in particular… I think if more people realized how hard it is to get preggers, they’d see if for the miracle it is.

      • Kelly says:

hee hee hee. look, a miracle is defined as an event that required divine intervention. making a baby requires sex and months of waiting. medical procedures can help those that are infertile on their own to become pregnant, but these are by well understood mechanisms and not by the hand of whatever god you happen to believe in. it’s just not a miracle. sure, every baby is unique and as a mother, you look at your child with wonder and awe and love, but emphatic emotions about your child do not equate to divine intervention. there is no reason to get upset.

      • msxbella21 says:

oh wow i’m glad you took the time to look up the meaning of a miracle but how come you didn’t take the time to educate yourself on making babies on your own and how easy it is? i’m sure all the people whose only option is to adopt wish they could go to your doctor because oh how easy it would be to have a child and a six pack of abs at the same time and get pregnant by yourself and have sex and just wait many months and just like that be pregnant. i guess all the people who have labeled it the miracle of life for years and years are just stupid uneducated non-experts right? you keep making yourself look less and less educated. you should just stop because you are clearly an idiot and most likely not even a female!

      • Kelly says:

i’m truly sorry for offending or upsetting you. it sounds like either you or perhaps someone you know is having trouble conceiving. i can understand, as i suffer from endometriosis and therefore have a far reduced chance at getting pregnant. i haven’t yet tried, but the thought that i may be physically unable upsets me greatly. i’m sure if the day comes that i find myself pregnant, i will become quite big. it’s part of the process. but i sure as hell will not take photos that are unflattering during the process. lots of pregnancy photos are beautiful, when done tastefully.

what i have been arguing is the labeling of “making a baby” as a miracle. there are lots of variables that might terminate an early pregnancy (too many chromosomes, implantation in the fallopian tubes, etc….), and sure, becoming pregnant can be a complex process for some. however, the complexity of the task says nothing about whether it requires the help of the supernatural. quite simply stated, fertilization, pregnancy and childbirth are not miracles. they are all well understood processes. after fertilization, the fetus incubates and grows along, without help from any god — hence what i meant when i said “all by yourself.”

again, i’m very sorry to have upset you. i think the picture is horrendous and unflattering. it’s an opinion. everyone’s got one.

  11. Kells says:

I think she looks beautiful. Pregnancy is such a miracle. Best wishes to Mariah and Nick and their babies.

  12. Daniel says:

A couple of additional pics, which I think are much better than the covershot:

Youre too old put some clothes on

  14. strawberry says:

The pose isn’t that awesome but she looks radiant! Can’t wait for the babies to pop out!!!! Can’t wait for the little girl to open her mouth and see if she’s inherited her mom’s octave range!!!!!!!!
