Lady Gaga unveiled the official artwork for her upcoming new album Born This Way late last night on her official Twitter profile just hours after her new single Judas first leaked to the Internets and then was officially released on iTunes for sale. Gaga teased the cover artwork by tweeting, “Get your hot rods ready to rumble, cause’ we’re gonna drink until we die.”- HIGHWAY UNICORN (ROAD TO LOVE), which I presume is a lyric from a new song. It turns out the “hot rods” part was meant to clue folks in that the cover artwork for Born This Way would have a motorcycle theme. Check it out below.

Um … yeah. As much as Lady Gaga is known for her oddball avant gardeness, I think I was expecting the cover to be somewhat similar to the artwork she released for her single Born This Way and something less like, well, this. I understand that Gaga was originally going to pay homage to another famous character with this album cover but had to scrap that artwork at the last minute …

Hahahahahaha! I keed, I keed. I suppose we’re supposed to infer that this cover has some deep meaning but, IMHO, it looks odd just for the sake of being odd. It’s no secret that I’m not a Gaga fan so mebbe I just don’t get it. I guess I can see how it might be cool to be motorcycle lady person … perhaps she always wanted to be a Transformer. Whatever the case may be, this is album art that Lady Gaga wants representative of her new release. What do y’all think? Is it cool? Is it cutting edge? What … is it?

Maybe, just maybe THIS is the whole point of the gad awful album cover? To get people talking and wondering WTF she is doing and why she would do something so misrepresentational.
I think it’s shockingly tacky and cheap, which is maybe the idea. It’s working.
Wouldn’t entice me to buy it, although I’m sure her fans will buy anything. Maybe that’s another point she’s attempting to make? That it doesn’t matter what’s on the outside, it’s the inside that counts. Though from all accounts she hasn’t quite nailed that either.
“I don’t want to be a part of the machine, I want the machine to be a part of me.” That’s what she’s going for, though I don’t expect 99% of Gaga haters to get it ’cause they don’t put much thought into anything they say or do.
I PERSONALLY CANNOT STAND HER OR THAT TACKY INCOHERENT MUSIC SHE SCREECHES OUT.. I MEAN SERIOUSLY WHY IS SHE RELEVANT?! IS SHE AEITHIST, CHRISTIAN, OR JUST SIMPLY LAME?! WTF?!
If you don’t care for her don’t give “it” attention. I just stumbled on this site after seeing the whole “Born this way” versus “Express yourself” by Madonna controversy Not to mention “Alejandro” sounds like “Don’t turn around” by Ace of Base. It’s very hilarious indeed and good for a laugh.
It’s just repackaged BS and shock marketing. If the “sheeple” want to follow it, that’s up to them.
