Extra! TV aired part 1 of their interview with Lindsay Lohan last night and, in comparison with all the crazy shizz going on with Charlie Sheen, it was by pretty much all accounts a very lackluster chat. While Lindsay gave good answers to the questions posed to her, you can see in the video that she had a very hard time looking directly at the interviewer as she spoke. She kept looking everywhere but into the eyes of the Extra! reporter which, to me, makes it seem like she wasn’t being totally honest.
In her first interview since leaving rehab, actress Lindsay Lohan breaks her silence and tells “Extra’s” Jerry Penacoli about her days in treatment, her fears for the future — and offers a look inside her new life. Lohan invited “Extra” inside her new home in Los Angeles for a deeply personal and revealing conversation.
Penacoli asked Lohan how she was feeling. “I feel great. I feel happy,” the actress smiled. “There’s always things, you know, bumps we have in the road and as long as I am focusing on the one thing I need to put first in my life, which is my recovery and stuff, and I’m doing good and that’s most important for me.”
Lindsay continued, saying the one thing she has missed most is working. “I miss being on set. I really do miss it. I know there’s going to be a lot of steps I’ll have to go through to prove myself again and get the trust from people I respect to work with, but I’m willing to do what I have to do to get there because that’s my passion.”
What does she want to do when she’s ready to return to work? “Great films, tell great stories. That’s what I aspired to do my whole life, and personal instances in my life have gotten in the way. But I don’t want that to be what I am known for, the tabloid stuff, that’s not me. I don’t like the attention. I don’t want my attention to come through my films and the work I am doing, not from going to the hair salon.”
Lindsay admitted that to achieve her goal, she is going to have to take it “one day at a time.”
One day at a time, indeed. But, again, as I said … for having invited Extra! into her home for the interview, she didn’t seem too comfortable answering the questions asked of her. Watch her eyes as she gives her interview answers in part 1 of her chat below:
HMMMM. I’m not saying that she is lying or being untruthful, I’m just saying that her shifty eyes and her refusal to look the interviewer in the eyes makes her comments seem … suspect. But, again, compared to all the Sheen stuff going on … does anyone even care about Lindsay‘s problems anymore? I’m not sure if she’s truly happy that Charlie Sheen is eating up all of the attention but for a girl who claims that she doesn’t “like the attention” she should be happy to be out of the spotlight for a minute. What do y’all think of this interview? Does she look/sound genuine to you?

I didn’t even know this was on! The fact is, I wouldn’t have watched it even if the Charlie Sheen comedy hour wasn’t on last night. Sorry LLO, no one really cares anymore. We have all seen and heard this shit from you way too much.
100% agreed. She needs to go away, she is never going to be a liked Hollywood actress…she blew the chance at that kind of life a long time ago. She was a child actress, she needs to find something else to do with her life…she hasn’t made a good movie, period.
No, but then again with the people surrounding her, I’d be surprised if she had a clue what genuine looked like. I wish she had just one person in her life that would stop agreeing with her victim attitude and just tell her that it’s her own choices dictating the life she’s leading.

guys.. she doesnt look happy,that’s for sure.. but STILL, she looks coherent and sober. we can see now in her eyes that she’s willing to get better and i just hope that it WILL happen. she is talented and that’s why watching her throwing herself away is annoying and sad.. nobody cares if paris hilton,tara reid or andy dick do drugs or whatever. but even if everyone is saying “i dont care anymore. she done. blah blah” we all hope for her to recover succesfully
A girl who doesn’t like the attention sits down and has an interview with tabloid TV. That doesn’t make sense unless she is trying to get a message out (please hire me people I respect), or set the record “straight” (I’m ready to work). I think a busy mind and nervous energy are probably the reasons for avoiding eye contact. Her thoughts race ahead of the conversation but I do think she is trying to be sincere. No one wants to be known for being a trainwreck and she knows the public is in hide-and-watch mode. I don’t believe she has changed who she is. She is still a spoiled, entitled brat, though a beautiful and talented one.
Let me first say her hair looks terrible, I expect better from her! haha. But really, this is a crappy interview, not that I expect any better from Extra. Get this girl on 20/20 or something! lol
girl hes some motivation in her life. i think with the right people surrounding her & the right job decision she can easily get back on track.
Sorry, this may just be my opinion but I feel everyone here needs to give her a break…I understand she has gotten away with a lot over the years and seems to not be really punished but in terms of this interview nothing seemed contrived to me. When it comes down to it none of us know what its like to be in her shoes. Whether she’s innocent or not, and people are tired of hearing about her and call her an attention whore she is facing serious issues in her life, she is human just like the rest of us and I would hate it if when I were going through this situation have people saying my hair looks like sh*t, my lips are messed up, my eyebrows don’t go with my hair…like wtf show some sympathy and look yourselves in the mirror because I can tell you right now you are not perfect. No such thing exists. I hope she finds her way, and if acting really is her passion then damnit go for it.
I don’t think she seems like she was being dishonest, I think she was more focused on the camera than on the interviewer. I really think that she’s trying. She doesn’t sound crazy like Charlie Sheen, she’s not stumbling around drunk like Christina, I think we should just cut her a break. She needs better people around her and a chance. She was a very promising young actress with real talent, who I think could have a good career again. Everyone was so quick to wish Britney well when she was in her crazy times…why not show the same hopes for Linday??

@Trent LOL I watched it again & you’re right… IDK what I was watching (or not) but still can’t help but wish her the best. With her ‘rents, she had no good support system around her at all. I’d drink/drug too to get over that lot in life!!

I’m just glad that she is “focusing on her recovery and STUFF”. Mebbe I’m just old fashioned (I’m 38) but when I hear people talk like that while having a serious conversation, I just don’t think they’re being sincere or totally commited to what it is they’re saying.

That is a common misconception. Fact is people only tend to look directly into the other persons eyes to see if they are buying the bullshit that they are feeding them. The fact that Lindsay able to look away shows that she was at lest telling mostly the truth, besides the idiots keep asking her question that can no way answer while the legal issues have yet to be settled. Also fuck them! Lindsay can lie to them all she wants. This isn’t a courtroom she didn’t get sworn in. fuck.

The video wasn’t working too good for me so I gave up watching it, but I was a huge Lindsay fan back in the day and I remember one interview she gave she said something about how her dad told her that a way to tell if someone is lying is if they won’t look you in the eye.. Can’t remember which interview though..
I just hope she is telling the ‘truth’ though, I’d like to be a Lindsay fan again someday.. It’ll take a lot more than an interview with Extra to get to that point though..
