So … where to begin? Last night David and I got to see Kylie Minogue LIVE in concert on her Les Folies Tour 2011 on her stop here in Berlin, Germany and I can safely say — without question — it was among THE most spectacular shows I’ve ever seen … be it concert, musical, what have you. Kylie‘s Les Folies show is a stunning spectacle for the senses … and one that we were lucky to savor from very close-up in the VIP section called the Splash Zone. I took far too many photos and some video of last night’s fun. If you are curious about the show and don’t mind being spoiled, read on to share in some of our fun last night.

The Splash Zone was surprisingly uncrowded … so we were allowed to run all over the place to be close to Kylie no matter where on the stage she ventured. Of her tours, this is by far the most inventive, the most cohesive and the most spectacular of all. Kylie always outdoes herself with new tours but I have a hard time believing she will ever be able to top this show.

From the staging, to the costumes, to the dancing and of course to the singing, the entire show was just WOW after WOW all night long. David managed to film a couple of clips for sharing … first is of Kylie riding her angel from the center stage, over the Splash Zone and onto the center stage — as she performed Looking For An Angel:
The next video is the first song where the water fountains were used for her performance of On A Night Like This:
As incredible as these videos look, the show looked so much more impressive in person. I was just … blown away!!! Seeing this concert on David’s and my 5 year anniversary trip was just such a treat … I will never forget it:

With our Splash Zone tickets, we got some fun goodies to take home … a towel, a poncho, a tour book and an actual autographed photo! Kylie really went out of her way to make the Splash Zone experience truly special. I can’t recommend seeing this show enough, especially from the Splash Zone. This show is a veritable feast for the eyes … hands down, one of the most amazing concerts I’ve ever had the pleasure to see. Clearly Berlin LOVED having Kylie in town … because she left with a special Aphrodite-ized Berlin Bear as a gift:

I’ll be seeing Kylie next back home in the US in LA and Las Vegas … the show will be scaled down but I am really looking forward to seeing her again in just a few short weeks ;D

@Trent, I’m so glad you got to see the show from the splash zone! A friend of mine is seeing her in London in a few weeks and he’ll be in the splash zone too. He’s so beyond excited.
I’m seeing her soon too! I won’t be in the Splash Zone unfortunately but I’m still so excited. The show looks amazing! Young singers should look up to her, she’s able to put on these fabulous shows whilst singing live!!!
YAAY! I’m glad to hear you enjoyed the show. I have been reading some not so great reviews from last night on Say Hey. So glad to hear your positive take. I can not wait to see Kylie in San Francisco! Did you actually get wet in the splash zone? There have been conflicting stories about the experience.
@Dennis — No, you do not get wet. If you get really close to the edges, you may get splashed but most of the area is dry.
There’s videos of people filming from the middle of the splash zone on Youtube, getting absolutely drenched and hosed with water. Some of the water jets are deliberately aimed straight into the splash zone! So yes, you more than likely WILL get wet! If you don’t, then you’re just very lucky ;p
@Nikki — I’ve not seen these videos you’re talking about but I was in the Splash Zone in Berlin, Germany and I can assure you they do NOT “drench and hose” anyone. The fountain jets shoot up, not into the splash zone. No one got wet at all at our show.
That looks like a really fun show with super high quality production! Yowza! Glad you guys had fun!
Looks awesome! Very cool!
Also… love the name “Splash Zone”!
EEP! Looks HOT! As you can well imagine, I am emerald green with envy. I’m dying for the Eurythmics cover. And “What Do I Have To Do” and “Better The Devil” musta been so fab.
So… do you think Les Folies topped Beyonce?
No videos? Only white boxes. :(
@Debho — Really? They are working on my end, try to view them here: http://www.twitvid.com/videos/trentvanegas
