Miley Cyrus, who continues to show that she Can’t Be Tamed, inadvertently (on purpose?) showed off her newest tattoo. Previously, Miss Miley got herself inked 4 times before (a heart and a small cross on her fingers, the word ‘love” on her ear and the phrase “just breathe” on her rib cage) … for her 5th tattoo, she got some artwork tattooed on the right side of her ribcage.
Teenage girls recently voted her their worst role model. And Miley Cyrus has certainly been living up to the title, between being caught on video smoking a bong, very adult acts of passion with her boyfriend in nightclubs and underage drinking. The once-squeaky clean star has been working overtime to shed her famous Hannah Montana image, and has just acquired another tattoo to add to her large collection of body art and piercings. The 18-year-old seemed keen to show off her new ink while out and about in Hollywood, wearing a T-shirt with a conspicuous hole in the side that was conveniently placed over the tattoo. Miley has another etching on the opposite side of her rib cage that says ‘Just breathe.’ The tattoo, which Miley had done in December 2009, is understood to be in tribute to a nine-year-old girl called Vanessa who passed away from cystic fibrosis in 2007. Cyrus met Vanessa at a Los Angeles hospital and instantly connected with her, describing her as one of her best friends. She also has a stencil of a love heart on her finger, and LOVE on the inside of her right ear, which she first showed off in June last year. In addition, the Party In The USA singer has multiple piercings, including several in her ears, plus her belly button and nose. Technically, this new addition is Miley’s first legal tattoo, as the legal age to be inked in the US is 18.
Oh Miley, so rebellious! Actually, I don’t really have a problem at all with Miley‘s love of body art. When done tastefully (and not foolishly like Gucci Mane and T-Pain), tats can be really beautiful additions to the body. Even tho the girl kinda irks me, I think her tattoos have thus far been tasteful and kinda cool. So long as she doesn’t take her love for tattoos to the extreme that her older brother Trace Cyrus has, she’ll be alright. What do y’all think … are you a fan?
I don’t really like what she got and where she got it. I like tats too but for some reason this one is BLAH!
i like tats but not to the extreme.. i believe tats are personal and not meant to be flashy (yes gucci & tpain)i have my ribcage done and ouchhh thats painful!
I don’t really think tattoos should be tied to being a bad influence or anything of that sort(because I’ve noticed that people look at those with tattoos as scum or like they are dirty or a bad person, which I don’t understand). Tattoos are a form of art, and as you mentioned-when they are done tastefully-they can be a wonderful and beautiful addition to the body. To be honest, I think so far all of Miley’s tattoos have been good choices and actually seem to have a story/meaning behind them. So while she still annoys/bothers me-she does have good taste in tattoos. I can’t really see the new tattoo, so I can’t really comment on the design but I don’t see getting a tattoo as a bad thing C:

I agree with you 100%. I have 14 tattoos and I have to keep them covered at work since they’re considered “unprofessional”. It’s hard for me because my arms are done as well as my feet and back… I’m going to have to come into work in a robe from head to toe! What really kills me is that since we have to keep them covered, peeps here cover theirs w/ bandages. So you have all these people looking like they’ve been in some sort of brawl or something..
As for Miley, I don’t blame her for showing hers off; they’re an extention of her and such a wonderful form of expression.
I find it incredibly sad that she’s only 18 and she already has 4 tatoos. She’s such a beautiful girl and she’s ruining herself by doing this to herself. This is what happens when parents act as best friends instead of parents.
@sparklecow, I completely disagree. My parents NEVER acted like my best friends and I have plenty of tattoos. I also work in a corporate office. It is 2011 and tattoos are accepted as a form of self expression not ruining your body. I know plenty of beautiful women that have loads of tattoos.

@sparklecrow – you joking right? my parents are far from my bestfriends, and i had my first tattoo before i was 18. and 4 small tattoos arent ruining her body. shes done them smart putting them places that can be covered when need be.
there is nothing wrong with tattoos. tattoos dont signal the downfall of a person and they dont mean there is anything wrong with the person. i know a lot of people with tattoos and most of them are incredible, loving people who just happen to be my best friends. while i myself dont have a tattoo i wouldnt mind getting one. i just want to make sure it is something i will want for the rest of my life.
Sorry but that thing on her side is far from a “small” tatoo. It looks hideous. I’m not saying you are bad if you have tatoos, I just dont’ think she should have been able to get them before she turned 18. BTW I am well aware she is 18 NOW, but wasn’t when she got the first few.
Totally agree with your thinking. I think there is nothing wrong with tatoos if tastfully done. However, I think there are things in this world that only adults should do. Why couldn’t she have waited until she turned 18 to get her first one? Kids are growing up too fast.
I love tattoos. I’m so tired of everyone making a big deal of her. If your kids are looking to celebs for a role model then you obviously taught them nothing. Ridiculous
