Kristen Stewart may be still bizzy filming the final two movies of The Twilight Saga film franchise but that doesn’t mean she can’t look ahead to her first post-Twilight acting gig. Entertainment Weekly is reporting that Stewart has been offered the lead role of Snow White in the planned upcoming live action film Snow White and the Huntsman. If she decides to take the part, the magazine reports, the iconic role of Snow White is hers.

Who’s the fairest of them all? We think we know! Sources tell EW that Kristen Stewart has been offered the part of Snow White in Universal’s Snow White and the Huntsman, to be directed by Rupert Sanders. As EW has previously reported, this project has been heating up, with both Viggo Mortensen and Charlize Theron in “final talks” to play the Huntsman and evil queen, respectively. Stewart has long been at the top of the list (other names mentioned include Swedish actress Alicia Vikander, Felicity Jones, Bella Heathcote, and Elvis granddaughter Riley Keough), and if the deal is finalized, it will be her first post-Twilight project.
On the one hand, I love the idea of a live-action Snow White film. It sounds like they are going for a vibe very much like the film Red Riding Hood (which stars Amanda Seyfried and is due out later this year). I’m not sure that K. Stew would be my first pick for the role. BUT she is a very in-demand actress (just yesterday we saw the first photos of Stewart in the upcoming film adaptation of Jack Kerouac‘s classic novel On the Road) and casting her in the film will guarantee an audience will come out to see the film from the very start. I will say that she deffo has the Snow White look so … maybe this will be a good thing? In any event, it sounds like the ball is in Kristen‘s court … if she wants the role, she gets the role. BUT, what do y’all think … should she get the role?

Snow White was bubbly and smiley…Not brooding and awkward…FAIL !
And even if its an “edgy” version it still needs to be well acted..Every movie shes in its the character imitating her, she never seems different. Theres only so much lip biting and hair fussing Snow White could do before you’re hoping the Evil Queen gets to lay down a serious ass whooping…
Btw, Viggo Mortensen is rumored to play the role of the Huntsman and Charlize Theron will for sure play the Evil Queen!
isnt this the chick that always complains about how much she just HATES acting ?
Once again I am a blown away by the ignorance about Kristen. No, she doesn’t hate acting, she simply has recognized when asked about it in interviews the pitfalls of fame. She has said multiple times how grateful she is for Twilight as it has opened many doors for her. But people for some reason love to hate her so they focus on the negative. I’m so sick of it, give the girl a f*cking break.
Ugh! Noooo!!! Not her!
yeah? wtf do YOU look like? Put up or shut up.
I think she’ll be great for the part & I’m interested to see what they have in store for us. @ Kay, well put ;-)
ugh i guess…… she seems to depressed all the time to portray snow white…really??
To those who are saying she can’t act I know you have your opinion but I feel as though you really need to watch some of these other movies maybe it will change your mind about her acting skills (they are really great) and yes I’m a fan of hers.
- Speak (Superb job acting as a victim)
- The Cake Eaters (She did an AMAZING job in this movie!)
- Undertow
- In the Land of Women
- Fierce People
- What Just Happened?
- The Yellow Handkerchief
- The Safety of Objects
** and who ever said that the Panic Room was her first movie was wrong. The Safety of Objects was her 1st & Panic Room was her 2nd :)
I liked her at first but she’s got a bad attitude. You can act and not be famous. There’s a couple plays going right down the street. She’s very whiny. Why do they keep picking her if she can’t promote either? Is it because she’s an adult but still built like a kid?
I don’t get it. Those Twilighters are going to grow up pretty soon and then I’m sure we’ll stop seeing her. Go do some indie movies and stop going mainstream if you want to whine.
Hilarious!!!!! Well put too…
Riley Keough would make a better “beauty” competitor to Charlize Theron. Sorry to say but Charlize Theron is definitely more beautiful than Kristen Stewart so that kinda loses the point of the movie to cast her!!!
