Yay!! I am happy to report that David and I successfully made our way from NYC to Berlin, Germany without a single problem. Our business class Delta flight was as perfect as can be. We made it to our temporary Germany home without incident and already explored our new neighborhood for a bit. I’m not gonna lie, it’s really freakin’ cold here but we’ve been having so much fun we *almost* haven’t noticed ;)

We started out our German adventure with a champagne toast and away we went. The first thing we did after we settled into our place was check out the surrounding neighborhood. It is really cute. Full of fun shops, lots of cafes and young families everywhere:

I really love the graffiti all over the place … I think the Unicow has become my spirit animal. We are doing our best to fight off the jet lag so I think tonight is going to be an early night so we can get on our new sleep schedule. Thus far, no big plans … we’re planning to just take the city as it comes. Our Berlin adventure has officially begun! Tschüss!!

Hi!
I’m off to Berlin this summer! You’re a fan of the city so far eh? That’s great! If you don’t mind me asking, what area are you in? I haven’t booked a place to stay yet and so I’m looking for ideas.
Thanks!
When ordering water make sure you ask for “natural water” otherwise it’s seltzer! ;)
@Carrie — Danke! I’ll keep that in mind ;D
Have a blast! Don’t leave without trying a red or green beer.!
Welcome to Germany! Weather is supposed to get better next week… enjoy your trip.
Have fun Trent and David! Enjoy. Trent, I wanted to share this adorable pic with you; looks like all the Oscar prep is taking its toll on poor James!

Yeah, ask for water “ohne gas” unless you like sparkling water, which I learned to love living abroad so I always asked for “mit gas.” :) Also, take a free walking tour if you are able to! Those are great! My friend who did one in Berlin even went out with his group and their tour guide for drinks at a local pub that night. A great way to meet people! Have fun!
hey welcome to germany! if u wanna go out 2night I recommend http://www.gmf-berlin.de/. C u there :) and enjoy ur stay!
you boys should try and make it to GMF at Weekend this Sunday night for the oscar party! It is always a great night, and the views are incredible of berlin!
yayyy germany :) its like my favourite place. you should definitely try some bratwurst und brotchen (sausage and bread) from one of the vendors from the street… delicious! also the giant pretzels.
welcome to germany! I´m sure you will enjoy your time here. I´m from munich, but love to visit berlin at least once a year. (next time though make sure to visit munich, we have the absolutely best beer here ;)
