Eminem Teams Up With Chrysler For A Fantastic Super Bowl XLV Ad
"This is the Motor City and This is What We Do"

Part of the fun of watching the Super Bowl year after year is the commercials. On Friday, I posted our first look at the brilliant and supercute Volkswagen commercial that features a little Darth Vader trying to use The Force on things all around the house. Yesterday, while watching the Super Bowl at Ollie and Caleb’s I fell MADLY in love with the Chrysler motor company commercial titled Born of Fire that featured Eminem and some of the most iconic buildings in Detroit, MI … my beloved home.

As soon as this commercial for the Chrysler 200 started, my heart stopped … I immediately recognized in the first frame the power plant that I have driven past on I-75 for all the years that I lived back home in Detroit. Without exaggeration, I was totally transfixed by the commercial. For me, Chrysler managed to make it clear that Detroit is the life blood of our country and it has a heart that will not be stalled … no matter how many hits Detroit takes. I think it may be difficult for people who live outside of Detroit and Michigan to understand how important the automotive industry is to our State — and to our country as a whole. Detroit is the Motor City of this nation and I love it with all of my heart. I’m not ashamed to admit that I actually teared up while watching this commercial for the first time yesterday. The Super Bowl party was in high spirits and I was sitting on the couch hoping that no one would notice that I was about to bawl my eyes out. Detroit truly is Born of Fire and it is tough … and I am very proud to call it my home. As much as I love that little Darth Vader, without question my fave Super Bowl commercial this year is this one from Chrysler. Whether you know it or not, Detroit really is the heart of this great nation. I’m so proud to see it getting the respect that it is due.

Not from Detroit either, but I cried. It was very poignant and breathtaking. I don’t think I would have shed a tear, however, if they didn’t have the “Lose Yourself” instrumental. Not just because it’s Eminem or was a pop hit, but because of what that song was about; fighting to make it. I get hyped up everytime I hear that track and I think that’s exactly the attitude of the Motor City and this country right now. “Success is my only…option; failure’s not.”

That was my FAVORITE commercial. And, yes, I will be test driving the Chrysler 200 when I can.

ive been to detroit to see eminem and this commercial indeed gave me the chills. i made it a point to see as much of the city as i could while i was there, as many of the architectural gems are in great decay http://flavorwire.com/139812/p.....of-detroit. he should do a commercial for detroit tourism – or maybe this was it. enough to make me buy a chrysler? not quite, but wow, best commercial of the night. you werent alone with the weeping…
