Destiny’s Child may have broken up years ago (and their collective fame eclipsed by Beyoncé‘s stunning solo success) but that doesn’t mean that the ladies haven’t stayed in touch over the years. Beyoncé Knowles, Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams got together Monday here in LA to do a bit of sexy shopping together. Beyoncé‘s sister Solange Knowles tagged along but there was no sight of other former Destiny’s Child members LeToya Luckett, LaTavia Roberson or Farrah Franklin … so I guess it wasn’t a complete DChild reunion after all.
They haven’t performed together in almost five years, but it seems the stars of Destiny’s Child are still good friends. Beyoncé reunited with her former band mates Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams for lunch and a spot of shopping this week in celebration of Kelly’s recent 30th birthday. The trio, famous for chart-topping hits including Survivor and Independent Women, were also joined by Beyoncé’s sister Solonge Knowles and their cousin Angie. The ladies caught up over lunch at the famed Phillippe Chow before heading down the street to luxury exotic boutique, Coco de Mer which sells high end sex toys and lingerie. It is the first time the girls have been publicly seen together since 2009. The girls were all in town to attend events relating to the Grammy Awards with Beyoncé, 29, attending the actual ceremony and Michelle and Kelly attending several of the parties. Beyoncé, who noticeably spent Valentine’s Day away from her husband Jay Z, is set to have a busy year with the release of her fourth solo album early this year and has signed on to star in the new Clint Eastwood remake of A Star Is Born. The movie is currently in development and set to begin filming later in the year.
How much do I LOVE the sight of these ladies all together again. Wouldn’t it be fabulous if they reunited to record a new album of music, too? While it’s very doubtful that will happen in the foreseeable future … well, I guess there is always hope. When I complied the playlist of songs I played at a party recently, I was reminded about how many great singles Destiny’s Child put out back in the day. DChild ruled! Seeing them together makes me further realize how much I miss them.

I agree, she does look lighter. I saw a picture of her the other day in some bright blue shoes and I had to do a double take. Her legs were so pale looking.

but i cant lie, at first glance in some other pictures i saw, i could have mistaken her for a white girl.

It’s a shame Michelle and Kelly haven’t found the success Beyonce has had since they broke up – especially with great albums they each brought out. Michelle’s was terrific, much better than anything Beyonce brought out.
I guess its the perks of having a Father who is a bully really. Radio too afraid of playing anything other than Beyonce and Awards shows and voters being bribed. But hey, thats also the perks when it comes to charting of songs. Airplay over Sales these days, hence why a lot of the garbage R&B/Hip Hop rules the charts.
Glad Kelly dumped Matthew Knowles, hopefully future releases are more successful. Beyonce may have the more powerful voice, but doesn’t mean we need to hear it over the others. I really like Kelly’s and Michelles is quite unique. At least they can put out songs that aren’t full of OOH and AHHS and YEAHS and repetitive chants.
I don’t want no Destiny Child reunion cause we know its just gonna be a new Beyonce album anyway.
Preach! I prefer the other two girls solo music over B ANY day of the week. All of the recently leaked Kelly Rowland songs are awesome and Michelle Williams last album was so good!
Kelly actually has a great career over in europe. and in the past couple years Michelle has been killin it with the modelling, and i think she has a decent career with gospel music – not too sure though.

Ah, there’s nothing like reuniting with your old band and going shopping for lingerie gifts. I can’t wait to do it myself. Yeah, it’ll be disturbing to begin with, but in the end I reckon we’ll be stronger for it.
