Welp Britney Spears fans, I got some good news / bad news for you. The good news is that today we get to check out a NEW promo photo of our dear Britney. The bad news is that Jive Records has just announced that her new album Femme Fatale, which was due to be released on March 15, has been pushed back 2 weeks with a new release date of March 29.
Britney Spears’ highly anticipated seventh studio album Femme Fatale is confirmed to be released on March 29th. The “Hold It Against Me” video directed by Jonas Åkerlund will premiere on VEVO and will air simultaneously in its entirety on MTV right before a new episode of the network’s top-rated Jersey Shore and on MTV.com at 9:56 PM EST on February 17th. Special teasers for the “Hold It Against Me” video have been airing on Britney.com, and will continue to air up to the premiere.
Boo. So now we have to wait an extra 2 weeks to hear Femme Fatale in full (that is, unless the album leaks early … as these things tend to do). Considering the fact that they are still recording and selecting songs for the album, it makes sense that they would want an extra 2 weeks to get everything sorted. Now, as for this new promo photo … I like it but I don’t love it. Britney looks like she’s kinda smiling … but she doesn’t look too happy. I hate to say it but I’ve been less than impressed with the promo photos we’ve been getting. The single cover art for Hold It Against Me is fab … the Femme Fatale coverphoto and now this photo are, well, less than fab. What do y’all think … are you super bummed about the album release delay? What do you think about this new photo?

At first I was pissed then I thought about it and if I have to wait two weeks for better music then so be it!! I will happily wait for a better end result. I like the pic. Just seems like a regular BS picture to me!
trent, the CD hasn’t been pushed back as far as the public is concerned. Britney and Jive never once CONFIRMED the a March 15th release. they only ever just said March. only blogs and outlets were claiming the 15th (due to that leaked PR) but that was never set in stone. just an FYI :)

that’s pre-order…those things are known to change all the time. and that PR was never released to the public so as i’m concerned it’s not official.
i understand what you’re saying trent. but as far as i’m concerned March 15th was never officially stated to the public. the leaked PR was for retailers so mtv news and other sites ran with it (what was jive to do, deny they wrote it?) and the pre-order site…like i said, it changes all the time. not trying to argue…i guess it’s all about how you look @ it. and if it didn’t directly come from britney’s management or an official PR to the PUBLIC, it’s not an official date.

@trent. You do realize that those “press releases” couldve been false. There was no real date announced by britney or her team. You know, just like how HIAM was going to be released Jan 7th because that date was published in a national magazine….yet was never announced by the team. It just sucks because now everyone is making assumptions that there is problems and Im sure there isnt….jeeze. The way people respond to rumors these days is insane. if anything is going to cause a downfall for the album its the fans getting pissed for no reason!

@trent, in that case your right. But still, I don’t like the idea of people thinking it was pushed back. Thats just going to bring some negative things into peoples heads. I really think the album is going to be AMAZING if HIAM is any indication of the direction theyre heading in. I just want all upbeat dance tunes, a midtempo song would be fine but NO ballads. That “my baby” song was just terrible….

Pissed? No. It’s Britney bitch :) I’ll be anticipating.Plus with the album at the end of the month, itll give some time to promote the single. She has alot of work to do to make the single grow some legs (dedicated fans like myself can only do so much) :)

I’m wondering what the real reason is for why the album is being pushed back. When things are pushed back it usually means that they are sure the public will percieve whatever it may be as being bad or something. Britney and her people must have to rework a couple songs to make them sound better. This is the biggest press juggernaut for a Britney album since the good old days before she married that idiot K-Fed. She has alot of hype to live up to is all I’m saying.

whatever it’s better than blahblah’s creepy cover art for born this way. I’m already over that single and it hasn’t been released yet. wayyyyy too preachy lyrics. we get it you love the gays. but as a gay man, I don’t need you to remind me that some people suck and don’t like me because of that. ESPECIALLY when I’m trying to get my groove on at a club. I think Britney is channeling her inner “I eat little monsters for breakfast” look in this picture.

Its gonna leak long before they want it to come out reguardless. The moment they stamp out a cd or start sending copies around…I don’t think a single album by a big artist like her has made it un-pirated to the release date.
Is this really the best option they had for a pic? Shes got some Paris Hilton level wonky eye going on. And regardless of which one you’re looking at, they both look sad. I still don’t think she’s fully “back”. She still seems to be holding back a bit like shes hesitant or unsure of herself. With a an album title like Femme Fatale she needs to bring the strut and attitude we’ve seen in the past ( and I don’t mean that in a negative way)
I don’t mind the new date at all. It’s more exciting to me because it’s two days before my birthday!!! And also there’s more time for promotion (crossing all my fingers) for the album.

Britney is and always has been pretty authentic and humble to a point where her fans have to be too. Her vocals arent the strongest but there is something real about her. I can’t help but Love it. I’m happy she has folks around her that love and protect her now and she deserves a success story after how badly she was treated when she was seriously sick.

Aww, I was hoping for a super sexy Britney photo. She looks amazing all dolled up. This is sorta meh. Oh well, I’m sure we’ll see better snaps soon. :)
