First Look: Taylor Lautner In ‘Abduction’
Lautner's First Post-'Twilight' Film

Back in July we got to see a couple of HOT shirtless photos of Taylor Lautner on the Pennsylvania set of his first post-Twilight film Abduction and today we get our first look at the first official promo photo released from the film. Altho Lautner is fully dressed (boo!) the photo is worth checking out since this film is homeboy’s first chance to impress us with his clothes on.

Lionsgate has released the first official look at Twilight heartthrob Taylor Lautner in the upcoming conspiracy thriller Abduction. The film, which is directed by John Singleton, will be released in theaters on September 23, 2011. In Abduction, Lautner is playing a teenager who finds his baby photo on a missing persons website, and realizes that something is wrong and that his whole life has been a lie.

The story revolves around 18-year-old Nathan Harper (Lautner) who discovers that his entire life has been a lie, but his perilous quest to find out the truth about his birth parents makes him a target of the CIA and the Serbian Secret Service, both of which are invested in whether Nathan lives or dies.

Also starring in the film are Sigourney Weaver, Maria Bello, Jason Isaacs, Lily Collins, Alfred Molina, Freema Agyeman, Elisabeth Rohm, and Michael Nyqvist.

The story sounds intriguing … and totally like something that I’d be interested in seeing. It bodes very well that Sigourney Weaver stars in the film … as well as Michael Nyqvist (the lead in the original Girl with the Dragon Tattoo films). It remains to be seen if Lautner has the acting chops to hang with these impressive actors. What do y’all think of this first look at Taylor Lautner in his first post-Twilight role? Does this film sound like something YOU’D be interested in seeing?

His hair is exactly the same in the Twilight films… Surely they could have given him a distinguishable new ‘do, right? Oh well. I think he’s going to be the biggest star out of the whole Twilight cast. Rob won’t be able to break out of his Edward Cullen role (because people will only see/compare him with Edward) and Kristen will either cave under the pressure or just be stuck with indie roles.

i disagree i think robert will do just fine. Remember Me was good, and Water for Elephants so far sounds like it’ll be good.
if Taylor takes some acting classes..and picks some damn good movies, he’ll do good. but i think Kristen will have issues staying on top.

I see a weak script, why is he with the shirt on?

In addition to Sigorney, Alfred Molina and Maria Bello are amazing actors as well. That makes me think this might actually be good.

I think that Kristen will have the easiest time after Twilight. I know that she gets a lot of hate on gossip blogs, but if you read trade papers, she is HIGHLY respected in the industry. Her performances over the years in films at festival have really made a solid reputation for her. She has done this year after year, so it definitely made an impression. Directors will be fighting to put her in their indy movies for years to come.

I think Rob could do well, and I think that Water for Elephants will shed some light on that. I think Taylor could be a good action star, but he will have to keep his heart throb status, if you know what I mean,(sadly).

Ultimately, I don’t think these actors should be judged by their performances in the Twilight films. The scripts are pretty weak.

Kristen will deffo shine in indie movies…but mainstream? nope. Rob will do fine mainstream. and i totally agree that Taylor will have to keep that “heart throb” thing he has going…atleast until he starts looking more his age/different style and not just jacob from twilight.

      • krissy says:

Indie movies? You mean those little things that people get Oscar nominations for? You mean she could have a sad little career like Keira Knightly, Annette Benning, Cate Blanchette, etc.? Yeah, who’d want a career like that?

;) If you are an actress that cares about craft more than fame, indies are the place to be. I think she will be quite happy with that…and consistently employed.

    • nicole nicole says:

except i would never place kristen on the same level as the other girls you’ve named. and unless kristen really kicks up it..there wont be an oscar for her…she’ll just be a indie actress. period.

i agree remember me was good!

i know i’ll see it. it sounds like it’ll be good. shrugs, i like taylor. even in that show with christian slater, though… i never EVER bought he could be christian slater’s son?!?!?

  7. Tracy says:

It looks pretty good. I think Taylor will be just fine but he does need to step it up a bit with his acting skills. Rob I think is the most talented out of the trio. Rob was good in HP, Remember Me, and the haunted Airman and others. Kristen…(poor Kristen) I just don’t see it I saw her in Panic Room and love it mostly because of Jodie Foster. But, Kristen did a good job too. But, since then I don’t know what happen she has lost it..I see her continuing with small roles in Indy films and that is it.

  8. CHASE says:

Kristen’s acting is not even on par (chances are it will never be) than those actresses you listed. There is a difference. LOL

  9. Megan says:

It actually does sound like an interesting movie concept. Hopefully he can pull it off.

  10. Oh No says:

The premise of this movie has been done to death by low budget movies a million times over. I don’t see this bringing anything new to the table.

They should’ve gone for a mid summer release, that’s usually the best time for weak stories to shine in the special effects category.
