Last night in Helsinki, Finland former American Idol Adam Lambert and his boyfriend Sauli Koskinen were arrested after the couple became involved in an … altercation of some sort. Reports are sketchy about what exactly happened before the guys were arrested but Dr. Funkberry seems to have the most reasonable report on what allegedly went down. Pop star Adam Lambert was arrested in Finland after a skirmish with his boyfriend Sauli Koskinen. Contrary to other reports, the fight was small and there was no violence on Lambert’s part. After seeing the Daily Mail quote a blogger who shall remain nameless about what happened who wasn’t there, we decided to take to Twitter and track down a few people who were in Finland and knew what really happened. It does appear that Adam and Sauli were intoxicated and did fight outside a gay bar titled “Don’t Tell Momma” early Thursday morning. Another couple tried to get involved to break it up and Adam swung at the woman, but the woman says Adam swung at her accidentally and did not do it intentionally. Adam was emotional and apologized to the woman. Keep in mind, these people who were involved know both Adam and Sauli … It seems like it was more of a yelling match then say fisticuffs. It is a minor incident and was not violent … Both Adam and Saulili have been released and were not charged and are downplaying everything.
Upon his release, Sauli Koskinen was quoted by the Finnish press as saying – and I paraphrase: “Public life is not easy, celebrities are only human. Love is not easy, but it lasts forever.” As far as I’ve been able to gather, based on all the varying reports, this sounds like a night of partying that got a bit out of hand. The fact that both Adam and Sauli were released without being charged says a lot. I understand that Glambert is supposed to be here in LA tonight to perform on X Factor … it remains to be seen if he will make it in time to perform on the show. HMMM.

Honestly, the whole thing seems so exaggerated. Bar brawls are really common in Finland and it’s not that rare to end up spending a night in jail to sober up (no violence required, mere drunkenness is enough). I bet it was only a minor argument, people recognized Lambert and some drama lover called the cops (I seriously wonder why the bouncers didn’t do their jobs). As it was the middle of the week and the police had nothing better to do, they came to collect the guys. No need to be so judgmental.
