Last night, at the Odyssey Arena in Belfast, Northern Ireland, the 2011 MTV Europe Music Awards were handed out LIVE on local television. While the night was full of performers and winners from around the world, the one person that everyone is talking about today is the nekkid dude who jumped up on stage during the show. While actress Hayden Panettiere was on stage to present an award, a fully nude dude jumped up on stage to interact with her in front of the live cameras. Despite the fact that the guy was fully nekkid (with the bared p33n to prove it), security did NOT remove the man nor did cameras cut away from him … an obvs indication that the stunt was planned and approved by MTV. I will say this for the stunt … kudos to MTV for finding a relatively attractive guy to drop trou and flash his bits to the entire world. Far too many times these streaking “pranks” are orchestrated by folks who I, personally, would rather NOT see in all their nekkid glory. Irish boy here, yeah, I don’t mind so much. I agree that it was planned (he ran off towards the backstage area, and security would have been all over him otherwise). The funniest thing about it is the vast difference in Europeans attitudes about nudity compared to the US.

Europeans are much more open and excepting where as Americans ARE NOT!! Just look at nipplegate with Janet Jackson…That was a nipple and the country went crazy. THis is full penis and the whole audience is laughing with out any real kind of backlash to speak of yet. Most, NOT ALL, Americans are just uptight about nudity and sex and therefore Krissy’s statment is 100 percent accurate.
A good example is to look at how tv is rated and censored. In the US, nudity is a much bigger issue than violence. In Europe, nudity and sexual situations are allowed much more frequently on regular TV. As Mr. G noted, Janet’s nipple made many in the US contact the FCC in outrage, yet during the same time period you could see a person get shot point blank in the head on Alias and no one said anything.
I think it is great that the audience could laugh at this little bit without getting offended. ;)

I wish the USA could be so civilized about nudity. It, really, would solve so many of the weird problems our nation has with sex.
