Last weekend we learned officially that Bravo TV decided to fire 4 of the 6 castmembers of The Real Housewives of NYC and today we are hearing publicly from one of those fired castmembers for the first time since the firing. Jill Zarin — who started out as one of my faves and then slowly regressed into a bitter, hateful and jealous person — posted a statement on her official blog about being fired from the show. In addition, RHONYC alum Bethenny Frankel — who has her own show away from the Real Housewives franchise AND was almost lost at sea a few days ago — was asked about the firings and she offers her opinion. Read both statements in full below.
Dear Friends and Family,
I’ve had four amazing years on The Real Housewives of New York City. I’m grateful for the experiences and friendships I’ve made on the show. I’ve certainly learned a lot about myself and others. The show has decided to take a different direction and unfortunately I will not be a part of Season five. I have received literally thousands of tweets, emails and Facebook comments from fans all over the world, from Australia to Alaska, and that has meant the world to me. More than you could ever know.
For all the people who have supported me and wished me well, you can see me on a new show that will be announced soon. I will also be making personal appearances around the country promoting my new line of shapewear and leggings called SKWEEZ COUTURE. For more information continue to visit jillzarin.com and follow me on Facebook and Twitter.
As my husband Bobby always tells me “When one door closes, many will open.”
Love and Kisses
LOL. Jill says that she “received literally thousands of tweets, emails and Facebook comments” but she doesn’t say if they were all positive … my guess is that they were not because, in all honesty, she has become a pretty bitter and unlikeable person in the past few years. I am glad to see that she’s been booted from the show, to be honest. I honestly will not miss her crappy attitude. As for Bethenny, who I love, this is what she had to say about the mass RONYC firings:
Bethenny Frankel may be long gone from the Real Housewives of New York City, but that doesn’t mean we don’t want to hear what she has to say about her former costars getting booted from the show. Especially because two of the departing, Jill Zarin and Kelly Bensimon, aren’t exactly her best friends. “I’m not surprised only because it’s been the same cast for so many years and Bravo…likes to make changes,” Frankel told me yesterday while promoting her new True Hollywood Story (premiering tomorrow night on E!). “They probably just felt like it was time for a change. People do that in relationships, they do that in work strategy. I don’t think it’s personal. I think it’s really just business.” Frankel, as you know, didn’t wait around long enough not to be asked back. “I did leave on top,” she said. “It was all very planned out. I knew this was the type of place you don’t want to overstay your welcome. I always say, ‘You don’t want to be the one in the nightclub at two in the morning where everyone looks pretty scary.’” Will Zarin, Bensimon, Alex McCord and Cindy Barshop hit the jackpot like Frankel has with her spinoff, the Skinnygirl empire and now possibly a movie about her life? Only time will tell. “The girls are probably a little nervous and scared, because it’s change,” Frankel said. “It can be lucrative when you get a lot of attention, but I also think it’s very tiring. They’ll get to relax a little more and not be scrutinized all the time.”
LOL. It’s funny the way things work out, huh? Bethenny continues on her way up while her detractors Jill and Kelly are headed toward obscurity. Life has a funny way of working out. Hee Hee.
