In early August, Jennifer Lopez gave an interview to Vanity Fair magazine wherein she discussed her recent split from hubby Marc Anthony. Since that interview occurred, a report came out that claimed that the reason that J. Lo and Marc broke up was because of an extramarital affair he supposedly had with Jada Pinkett-Smith. Last night, Marc sat down with Nightline to give his side of the story and clear up any misconceptions that people may have about his private life. J.Lo is the sexy, high-voltage superstar, now one of the faces on the popular show, “American Idol.” Marc Anthony is the king of salsa, a two-time Grammy winner who has sold millions of albums worldwide. Together, they were one of the steamiest power couples in Hollywood — until six weeks ago when announced they were splitting up. In an exclusive interview with ABC News’ John Quinones, for the first time, Anthony talks about why his marriage to J.Lo crumbled. “I’ll tell you that it wasn’t something sensationalistic happening,” Anthony said. Although tabloids claimed that he broke up their 7-year-old marriage with affairs, Anthony says, “absolutely not.” The reason for their break-up, he says, was much simpler. Their marriage just no longer “worked.” “It was a realization on both our parts. So you know it wasn’t shocking. These things happen,” he said. ”It was a decision that we made jointly.” Dodging hounding questions about his pending divorce, Anthony has been taking motorcycle rides as often as possible to escape and spending time at his home in Long Island, “Casa Marc Anthony,” which he calls his “haven.” Anthony also continues working hard to promote his new clothing line with Kohl’s, his upcoming tour and continuing with filming his reality show “Q’Viva! The Chosen,” co-starring with none other than his now estranged wife. “This is not a funeral. this is not a burial,” Anthony said of his divorce. “This is just two people who came together and just realized — and so I’m saying that it wasn’t sustainable the way it was, and that’s that.”
HMMM … I suppose it is possible that the LopAnthony marriage just fizzled after 7 years, I mean, it happens all the time. My guess is that even IF something untoward went down in their marriage, neither party will discuss it publicly mainly because they have a professional relationship to maintain … not to mention a pair of young twins to raise. I understand that ABC will be milking this interview for use on Good Morning America today and then again on Nightline tonight. But, with nothing salacious to share … what’s the point? I mean … we get it … nothing “sensationalistic” happened … so what else is there for him to talk about? I do love these videos mainly for the fact that Marc looks like a wee little man sitting in that BIG chair of his. LOL! No offense to Marc Anthony fans but he is so uninteresting. Ah well.

The beauty of Marc Anthony is obviously not on the outside and props to Jennifer for not being as shallow as you guys seem to be. He’s a genius. One of the most awe inspiring people you’ll ever meet. He has a brain that leaves people breathless and an energy that can’t be contained. You have not lived until you see him in concert. On the other hand, how full of ish are they? No infidelities? I’ve seen Marc with other women countless times in various cities since a couple of months after his marriage. Glad they’re making the divorce work though. More power to them.

Sorry to point this out but Marc Anthony is far more interesting than someone who spends every single day of his life commenting on other people’s lives.

I’ve heard Marc is not a super sweet person (and Jen, for that matter), but WOW can that man sing. Trust me, put on one of his cds & his voice is heaven. Same with Whitey Houston: she’s shameless, uncouth & arrogant, but boy she can (could) sing like no one else. Sometimes you have to separate the person from their work, or you’re gonna miss out on some major bliss.
