Watch: ‘The Simpsons’ Pays Homage To ‘Dexter’

'Treehouse of Terror'

Every year, The Simpsons airs an amazingly entertaining Halloween episode titled Treehouse of Terror that usually pays homage to famous (and infamous) horror films, TV shows, characters, etc. This year, The Simpsons will be paying homage to the brilliant Showtime TV series Dexter. In the video below, you will see Ned Flanders doing his best Dexter Morgan impersonation as he spoofs the opening sequence of the show Dexter. It’s really cute … check it out in full below.

Ned Flanders may be a God-fearing individual, but apparently he’s not afraid to slice and dice. In this clip from The Simpsons’ annual Halloween episode “Treehouse of Horror XXII” — which was shown last weekend at the animated Fox comedy’s Comic-Con panel — the opening credits of Dexter are given a Springfield makeover, with Flanders assuming the role of the meticulous serial killer, Dexter Morgan. As we’ll learn when “Treehouse of Horror XXII” airs Oct. 30, Homer’s pious neighbor believes that the big guy upstairs is instructing him to murder various residents of the town.

LMAOO!! I love The Simpsons and I make a point never to miss their annual Halloween episodes (which, oddly, usually air after Halloween). If they’re spoofing Dexter, I’m tuning in for sure! I love the Ned Flanders character … and this clip is very cleverly done. Love it!! It’s great, right?
