After enjoying a reasonably successful premiere season last year, The Walking Dead returns to AMC this October with a much-anticipated season 2. As you can see from the 4+ minute trailer below, which was unveiled yesterday in celebration of 2011 San Diego Comic-Con, the action picks up right where things left off in season 1. I’m not sure why, exactly, but this new trailer really resonates to with me … it looks great. Check it out in full below and see what you think.
It makes sense that the gang from season 1 would start to fracture and fall apart … I’m glad they are getting right to that kind of drama. As much as I enjoyed season 1, I started to get a little bored by the end. As I understand it, they hired a new group of writers for season 2 so I’m really curious to see how the action/drama will play out this time around. As far as this trailer goes, I really like what I see. I can’t wait to see more!

Why do you call the first season “reasonably successful”? Is it just that you didn’t like it so much? Because from a viewership standpoint it was a big hit…better ratings than True Blood for example.
@anamme — I liked Waking Dead very much. I say reasonably successful because, to use your True Blood example, TB was a HUGE megahit right from the beginning … it’s become a phenomenon. I wouldn’t say the same for TWD. It did very well on AMC, but it’s not yet a household name like, say, TB. That’s what I would call a resounding success.
@Trent – thanks for clearing that up :) I thought maybe you had mixed feelings about the first season, and I was going to urge you to maybe rewatch it! Glad to see your so pumped about the second season – I can’t wait!
