‘The Avengers’ Releases A Batch Of Character Posters

On Thursday we got to see the second teaser poster released for next year’s superhero film The Avengers and today we get to see a few new posters for the film. Unlike the teaser posters (which are, IMHO, kinda boring) these new character posters of some of the Avengers are really cool. Unfortch there are a couple of members of the superhero team not represented in these posters … but the posters we get are very cool. Check ‘em out below.

In addition to the new movie poster for next summer’s The Avengers, Marvel Studios has released four character posters that were designed for this year’s Comic-Con. The interlocking posters, which were created by Marvel’s co-visual development supervisors Ryan Meinerding and Charlie Wen, so far feature Captain America, Iron Man, Black Widow, and Hawkeye, but we imagine posters for Thor and Hulk are just around the corner. If you’re at Comic-Con, stop by the Marvel booth to pick up your copies, assuming they haven’t already been gobbled up by now.

Firstly, I have to say that I really like the subtle changes that have been made to Captain America’s costume. It’s a nice mix of the classic WWII costume and his usual costume that we know from the comic books. Secondly, you will note that this is our first look at Hawkeye’s costume. Yes, we saw the character (played by Jeremy Renner) in the Thor movie but this poster shows us what his costume will look like in The Avengers. I am really curious to see what The Hulk will look like … but my guess is that we’re gonna hafta wait a bit to see what the green guy looks like. I hope we get to see more promo stuff that features these characters … and less promo stuff of just the logo.

I don’t think that these are official posters, these might be fan-made, there’s various signatures on them.

    • @Shay — They’re concept posters created by Marvel artists.

I don’t understand why Black Widow is the only female Avenger on the team in the filme. Yes, I know we have Cobie Smulders as S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Maria Hill, but not Wasp, a founding member of the team in the comics? Couldn’t you imagine the cool 3D sequences that could have been shot with her as the star?
