Dakota Fanning Graduates!

Class of 2011

Dakota Fanning, the young actress who has already starred in about a million movies, has finally achieved a new benchmark in her young life. Last night, Dakota graduated from high school! That’s right, in between her years as a movie star, Dakota has been working hard to get her high school diploma and this week reached the culmination of all of her hard work. Check out some photos below from Dakota‘s Class of 2011 graduation ceremony at the Walt Disney Concert Hall here in LA, CA below.

She’s starred in dozens of movies, including the hit Twilight saga. But when not walking the red carpet at premières Dakota Fanning has been kept busy with a rather less glamorous task – completing her education. Last night she swapped the showbiz world of Hollywood for the altogether more down-to-earth location of her high school graduation. Dakota, 17, looked as proud as any Oscar winner as she joined her peers at the ceremony, held at the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles, California. Dressed in her blue gown and mortar hat, the smiling blonde posed alongside her classmates. Her 13-year-old sister Elle, star of the upcoming Super 8, was there to watch as Dakota received her diploma. The pair were joined by their parents Steve, an electronics salesman, and Joy, along various other relatives.

Aww … how cute is this? You may recall that last November we learned that Dakota was voted Homecoming Queen so I guess we’ve been following her Senior year of high school kinda closely. Let’s send Miss Fanning all of our love and congrats on her latest accomplishment. I suspect that Dakota will follow in other young celeb trailblazers (like Natalie Portman, for example) and will next make her way to college. It’s crazy to think that Dakota is only now graduation high school. I guess she’s been in the biz for so long, starting out at a very young age, that it just seems like she is older than she really is. Congrats, Dakota! Well done!!

  1. I love her! She seems so down to earth and not jaded by being famous. I have a feeling she is going to be the next Jodie Foster. Congrats on the degree girl!

  2. Joanna

I can’t get over the fact that she’s 18 already. I remember her when she was between 8 and 10 in “I Am Sam.” Young Hollywood is growing up so fast. I wonder what college she plans to attend. She seems like a smart girl who will be at some amazing school pretty soon.

  3. Sabrina

This is a good role model for young girls to look up to. Someone that stays in school and graduates with good grades (the ropes around her neck) and also plans of going to college.

  4. perdiz

I always think of her as so young and yet I only graduated last year from high school… geez.

  5. excess

She graduated with Honors, her parents have done an excellent job of balancing her acting with making sure she has a childhood/life. Adore her and can’t wait to see what she does next.

  6. lohan

She’s no just a Good student but a great actress, she’d should be a role model as well for those wanna be actresses, specially her twilight co-stars
