Welp … Prince William and Kate Middleton, the now the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, are married and today we get our first look at the official photos taken by photographer Hugo Burnand just after the wedding ceremony was completed. The newlyweds posed with members of their wedding party as well as Their Royal Highnesses Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip the Duke of Edinburgh. Check out the serious but playful photos below.
Kate Middleton and Prince William’s official royal wedding pictures have been released – and it is the turn of a cheeky-looking pageboy to steal the show. After bridesmaid Grace Van Cutsem drew smiles yesterday as she clapped her hands over her ears against the noice of the crowd while the newly-weds kissed, Tom Pettifer leaned in over the bride’s head for this shot. The happy couple look to be enjoying the moment too, with big smiles, William leaning towards his bride and her hand resting affectionately on her husband’s knee. The photos were taken by the couple’s official wedding photographer Hugo Burnand in the Buckingham Palace throne room. Best man Prince Harry wore a big grin as he joined his brother, their family and Prince William’s in-laws the Middletons for the official family photo. And William’s bride looks every bit a princess as they pose for their official wedding portrait.
It’s no surprise that the official photos of the Royal Wedding would look perfect … but these photos look especially perfect. The colors, the placement … just … perfect. Kate looked so amazing. I understand Sarah Burton designed Kate‘s dress as an homage to Grace Kelly‘s elegant wedding dress and the effect is striking. Wills looks absolutely THE picture of princely perfection in his red jacket. And will you PLEASE look at that huge grin on Prince Harry‘s face? He’s the next to get married, you know. I mean … it’s possible he may stay a lifelong bachelor but my guess is that he will take a wife … and I hope that wife will be his currently estranged girlfriend Chelsy Davy. They may be broken up now but don’t forget … Wills and Kate broke up a few times too ;) In any event, I’m rambling … I do LOVE these official photos. See folks, fairytales do come true ;)

I agree with everything you said, Trent. The Queen’s yellow is a perfect compliment and makes the picture pop.
Where is her sister Pippa? Why is she not in the family photo?

I was suprised to see her wear a white dress, i thought that was sort of taboo for bridesmaids. But i love loooooved Kate’s dress. As much as I say I don’t care about the whole affair, I was excited to see her dress and she didn’t disappoint!
It’s “taboo” in America for bridemaids (or anyone else) to wear white in the States but not in the U.K.

I highly doubt her happiness has anything to do with the throne. She doesn’t strike me as that type of person, probably if Will was a poor man she would love him just as much.

I don’t understand why everyone is making a big deal that Kate’s siter wore white. Obviously, her sister asked Kate for permission or – to some extent – Kate KNEW her sister would be wearing white (of course there was outfit approvals, dres rehearsals, etc.) and Kate was fine with it (OBVIOUSLY), so I don’t know why everyone is bitching their socks off over it. It’s 2011, not 1980 or anything prior. Kthanx. Anyways, I find Harry’s girlfriend, Chelsy, to be shadddddddddddddddy. I hope he doesn’t marry her.
It’s becoming much more fashionable for the bridal party to wear white along with the bride. Obviously, Kate picked helped pick the dress Pippa would be wearing and I thought the choice was right on trend.
@Chase-LOL regarding your comment about Chelsy. I thought you were making some sort of pun about her overtanned skin. Seriously, the girl is orange. No more spray tan Chelsy!
Katge chose what all of her attendants wore as most brides generally do. It’s not uncommon for royal brides to have all white, Diana did and so did Sarah Ferguson when she married Andrew.
I think Harry and Chelsey are over for good. I just don’t see them getting back together and I really don’t see them being married. Could be disastrous if they did and we sure don’t need another royal divorce.
It’s actually Royal tradition for the attendants to dress in white.
@Trent, it’s Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and His Royal Highness the Duke of Edinburgh. The Queen gets to be a HM rather than HRH. :-) Love royal protocol.
I heard that in England the bridesmaids wearing white was not taboo like here in the states. Not sure if that’s true or not but I thought her sister Pippa looked great. Love these pictures.
It’s tradition for the bridesmaids to wear the same color as the bride. Same thing happened at Diana’s wedding.
Pippa is gorgeous and I loved both gowns. I think Harry should forget about fickle Chelsy and take a look at his new sister-in-law.
I thought Harry was taking a look at Pippa LOL! To me, Pippa looked a bit better than Kate actually did, but I dont think it wouldnt had been as obvious if it was a different color dress.
P.S. – I’ve been following the BBC coverage. and I’m glad that one of their reports included a bit of an homage to Diana…that this is the same church where her funeral was held – that the sight line going down the aisle is the same as that that viewed her casket. I have mixed feelings about all of that as I loved Diana but Westminster Abbey has been there for centuries and now it’s a good thing, I think, for such a happy event to be the mose recent memory.

This makes me so proud to be British! The wedding was beautiful and although Kate wasn’t quite the commoner the press made out, she makes an amazing bride and I’m sure one day an amazing queen. The dress was near perfect and it brought to life all my childhood fairytale dreams. Rule Britannia! :D xxx
