A Fan-Made ‘Fright Night’ Poster Hits The Internets [UPDATE]

Last week we got our first look at actors Colin Farrell and Anton Yelchin in the upcoming remake of the 80’s horror film Fright Night. Today we get our first look at lead actor David Tennant boldly featured in the UK fan-made poster artwork for the film. Tennant plays the magician Peter Vincent who fights the forces of evil and tries to help Charlie (Yechin’s character) fend off the vampires. Check out the poster artwork below.

Senior Charlie Brewster (Anton Yelchin) finally has it all going on: he’s running with the popular crowd and dating the most coveted girl in his high school. In fact, he’s so cool he’s even dissing his best friend. But trouble arrives when Jerry (Colin Farrell) moves in next door. He seems like a great guy at first, but there’s something not quite right—but everyone, including Charlie’s mom (Toni Collette), doesn’t notice. After observing some very strange activity, Charlie comes to an unmistakable conclusion: Jerry is a vampire preying on the neighborhood. Unable to convince anyone, Charlie has to find a way to get rid of the monster himself in this Craig Gillespie-helmed revamp of the comedy-horror classic.

Many of you may know David Tennant from his work on the UK series Dr. Who … but I don’t think the good doctor ever looked this kickass. I’m not quite sure how I feel about the goatee but … I kinda love the idea of David Tennant in this role. While I’m still not crazy about the idea of this remake, I am intrigued by the casting. Colin Farrell as the vampire seems weird to me but I am LOVING the casting of both David Tennant and Anton Yelchin. This is a fun first poster. Fright Night will hit theaters on August 19.

UPDATE: It turns out that this Fright Night poster is actually a fan made manip … the official poster artwork has NOT yet been released. I’ll update when the real poster finally gets released.

  • Mr. Gyllenhaal

He is sexy but I hate the remake of this movie which means I will see it opening night!

    • Wynter

      Completely agree.

Poster leaves a lot to be desired. Its boring and looks like a bad matrix poster rip off. Love David he’s good and anton, colin and toni collette really elevate this to something special. Unfortch the same cant be said about this measely poster…

  • Bounds

I will see this movie…but this poster, the lighting and fade to black elements look just like the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo poster and the Girl who Kicked the Hornet’s nest. Yes, with the Neo pose from the Matrix poster. How funny, it’s so easy to dissect. Come on, people. Posters are no longer a vessel for art. They are a means to an end. I mean remember when the poster was worth looking at? The artwork. The originality? Now, it’s like watching MTV for music. Those days are over. The poster is just an afterthought now.
