Earlier in the week we learned that Britney Spears would be making an appearance in Las Vegas, NV last night and then we learned that her appearance would actually be a mini-concert performance at the Palms Hotel and Casino. Britney ended up performing twice last night … first at a ticketed event at 8PM and then at a public event at midnight. She performed 3 songs — Hold It Against Me, Till the World Ends and Big Fat Bass. Check out photos and video from her return to the performance stage last night.

She looked fabulous. Last night’s performance was her first since she wrapped her world tour The Circus starring Britney Spears a few years ago.

Blah! I wish the clips were longer, less shaky and filmed length-wise but … I’ll take what I can get :) It’s hard to really gauge her performance from these shaky-clips but it looks like she put on a great show! I suspect she will perform these same songs in San Francisco, CA on Sunday … and that performance will be shown on Good Morning America early Tuesday morning — on the very day her album Femme Fatale is released in stores (PLUS, Britney will make an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show and Jimmy Kimmel Live on album release day as well). It is so amazing to see Britney back on the performance stage. I WISH I could’ve been at her performance last night or be in San Fran tomorrow but … ugh, I guess I’ll have to live vicariously thru all the folks who have generously been sharing their photos and videos online. I can’t wait to see and hear more! Britney is so back … and it is glorious!!

I love her but have to say… What happened to her dancing? i worked a concert she was doing in 1999 when she first came out. Her voice when warming up was amazing! I have seen her and nsync have “lip sync” practices when doing big dances and flying. But now it seems shes being pushed. Her dancing is not so great, like she isnt giving it all. I know she hurt her kneww, but even the arms and stuff. Kinda sad. If shes done she should just be done. not giving it 1/2

Why does she even bother with the prop microphone? It’s not like it even bothers her fans that she doesn’t sing live (which is just unfathomable to me but I’m not a fan of her). Does she use it to talk to the audience between songs or something? I would think she could at least do that. Does she lipsync/fake 100% of the vocals?? I’ve always been truly puzzled by her appeal, nothing against those who love her. I guess I am more into musicianship than I am theatrics and dancing.

Agreeeeee! There are some hardcore fans out there who will support her through anything…which is awesome. But. WOW. I’m 5 months pregnant and I’m pretty sure I could dance with more energy than that! ;)
Bravo! You cant even call this performance “Style over substance” because she doesnt even have that. What is her appeal? Whats so mind boggeling is the girl use to be able to sing (as a kid) and dance her ass off. How do you loose that before you turn 30?
Seriously…how does someone who use to know how to dance unlearn that? Her mental breakdown a few years ago must have really messed her up or the meds she is on make her a zombie. So sad. This is a shame and her lemmings eat it up…
She’s got a busted knee… Would YOU be able to dance for 1-2 hours strait on a knee that hurts just when you walk? No? The fact that she is doing this much is impressive. She’s only human after all. Give her a break.

Say what you will but this woman has no passion anymore. She may have a knee injury but plenty of dancers have worked with injuries for years and not lost what Britney has since the days of I’m A Slave 4 U.
She also has no connection to her lyrics.
Her heart’s just not in it. Things changed after the freakout, which was probably about her not wanting to do this anymore and contending with the “Britney machine” fronted by Larry Rudolph, which just wants to make money.
I hope someday she gets to just live her life on her terms. It’s tragic that she can’t.
I think she looks amazing. She’s trying her damndest on a busted knee and what looks like 4-5 inch heels. Can’t compare her to her dancers who are in top physical shape and wearing flats. Sorry folks, but she’s not a 15 yr old girl anymore. She’s not gonna be able to bust it out like she used to. But she’s doing a damn fine job with what she’s got! I personally can’t wait to see her on tour! Go Brit Brit!
Busted knee and insanely high heels do not a good dance combination make. Why isn’t she trying it on flat heels or at least much lower ones? :(
So Sad…Why can’t she dance? Is something wrong?Could it be her medicine…I had hope that this would be better than her Circus tour but she seems lost at times and scared.
I think it’s the knee surgery(surgeries??) she had in the past. Maybe whatever injury she had was just not permanently fixable. It’s great to see her making her come back but I really miss the hardcore dancing she used to do!
Nice arm dancing, her performance career is over. She’s nothing but a studio artist now. Incredibly sad.
Wanted to add that there’s absolutely no excuse for not singing live if this is the type of “dancing” she is going to do. I’d rather her just stand still and sing live while her dancers do the moves. Either give it your all or retire. Simple as that.

Ugh, Britney… I’m SO disappointed. :[ She flapped her arms and hardly danced. Plus, she’s worn out those bodysuits. The entire Circus tour, she wore them, they are outdated now.

I don’t usually ‘defend’ Britney cause theres nothing too defend. Haters are gonna hate no matter what sort of performance it is. I’ll either praise her, cause she deserves to be praised or not say anything at all.

Yeah this is bad – the set design and costumes are good. The energy she is giving is NOT! I didnt see the Circus live, but the videos on youtube are better than this. And quite frankly, i’m sick of the “How Ya’ll Doing [insert city name here]” and then next song. I was expecting an IN THE ZONE or Britney-era performance with this album. It aint a comeback, but her dancing needs one thats for sure. I’m not hating on her cause shes Britney – but I want her energetic 110% performances back. We all know she could do it.
I’ve seen those videos after she gave birth in the dance studio, shes still flexible and can still move.
No doubt her knee has affected her but with constant training and rehearsing its possible we all know it. I just dont think she tries as hard and its a shame cause it actually IS affecting her career. Sales go down for these things. Promotion is still needed in a digital age.

Gimme More was better than these performances. She looked like she was trying in Gimme More just didnt know the moves. This she knows but didnt try.
Hold It Against Me and Till The World Ends are too TERRIFIC tracks. Great pop songs. #1 Records. HIAM was #1, but could have been 2 weeks or 3 weeks in a row Not one week like the rest of her #1 songs. Its cause of promotion. Dont leave it until 2 months after the songs released. Its just barely song 1 million in the US. It should be bigger than Born This Way cause its a better song.
I’m just upset and angry at the fact her management cant convince her to actually give a F*** – heck her Dad controls her life and her finances which he shouldnt anymore, but since he does, he should be forcing his daughter to DANCE!
I hope her management see these comments and realise what a screw up they’re making. Gonna be embarrassing on Ellen and GMA and Jimmy Kimmel now really. You’ve said a mouthful and have some good points, but one: this wasn’t a full on concert. Britney makes quite a bit of cash flow as a business and it shows in her concerts, production wise. Two: No amount of rehearsal or physical therapy is going to fix an injured knee that has not been repaired permanently with surgery. Did you think that maybe she has an injury that is beyond permanent repair? Maybe she is physically incapable of doing all of the things she used to with her dancing? I do miss her dancing the most. On the positive, it is good to see her far from the crazy she was in, no?
I’m really sick of the “broken knee” myth going around. The first time her knee “went out” she came back with huge fake tits and the second time was an excuse to quit the Onyx Hotel tour early so she could screw around with Kevin. The fact is that she can’t dance because she isn’t putting in the time to practice her routines.
@J, yes I remember the video you are talking about where she is going HARD dancing to the song mannequin in the studio. She can still dance her ass off, but she doesn’t put in the time to do it. Its obvious that she chose being a mother over practicing her dance, which is great, but if she isn’t going to give it her all she should just stop or at least take a long break until she has the time.

I’m sorry, was just watching a video of Gloria Estefan after her accident, you know the one in which her spine was fractured and she almost died. She was dancing with much more energy than brit brit here…but please, keep telling us about her poor knee. She’s not bringin it for her fans, and only the deluded ones are defending her.
if you can’t dance in heels wear flats. If you’re not going to dance you better sing live. Arm flapping and lazy lip syncing for a damn concert is unacceptable. You britney fans make me ill. Enabling her to be this lazy means she isn’t going to change it. Have some standards.

This is just embarrassing, I hope that she realizes how stupid she looks doing these little dance routines that were cute when she was 18, now… just no. She needs to concentrate on her kids and find a new career.

Britney looks great when we see her running around town and then they put her in these leotards that make her look fat and heels too high for her to dance in…..has she recently said anything about her knee being a problem? I don’t follow her enough to know for sure but from what I have read its the fans that say it must be her knee, which sounds more like they’re making excuses for her. If she does have her problems, then she should switch up her shoes and have the choreographers work around it more…
I will say that ignoring that aspect of things, if I’d paid for tickets to that show I’d be super pissed. 45 minutes and 3 songs is all they got out of it?
