Christina Aguilera Emerges For The First Time Since Being Arrested

Christina Aguilera was spotted in public last night for the first time since she was arrested in the wee hours of Tuesday morning in West Hollywood, CA on the charge of public intoxication. Xtina was making her way out of the Smashbox Studios where she reportedly filmed a new promo for NBC’s new American Idol-like show The Voice. As we learned earlier this week, Xtina has joined The Voice as a coach/judge on the show. It would seem that Xtina is doing all she can to put her arrest behind her so she can move forward with this new project.

Christina Aguilera is coming to NBC. The five-time Grammy winner has signed on as a coach/judge on Mark Burnett’s singing competition series The Voice. Celebrity singers fill three spots on the judging panel so far, with Xtina joining Cee Lo Green and Adam Levine. Aguilera was first reported as being in talks for the show in an EW exclusive posted last week. “I am so excited to be part of such a wonderful project that celebrates music and the talent behind it,” Aguilera said in a statement. “To be given the opportunity to help shape new artists’ careers and mentor them to see their dreams come to fruition is a task I welcome with open arms.mI am so happy to be working with fellow Grammy Award winners Adam and Cee Lo as I feel there is so much we can all bring to The Voice.” Though launching any music competition series at the same time Fox’s American Idol is on the air remains perilous, the lineup gives NBC some heavy-hitting star power behind its show — and adds to Burnett’s impressive roster of reality casting coups … “When I decided to produce The Voice, I immediately knew that my first choice for a female coach had to be Christina Aguilera,” Burnett said. “Christina has a perfect voice and is an undeniable force in the music business. She is the epitome of The Voice.”

Not that I think that The Voice will be a runaway hit but this new gig for Xtina is just what she needs right now. We’ve been hearing about her reported troubles with booze for the past few months and this week’s arrest really brought the matter out into the forefront. By focusing on The Voice and moving forward positively (hopefully), Xtina has the chance to kinda sidestep the embarrassing woes that come along with being arrested. As long she keeps her nose out of trubs, she should be fine. As I said, I don’t really have high hopes that The Voice will be a smash success (IMHO only X Factor has any real chance of supplanting Idol in the singing competition arena), but the show could do well … which would be very, very good for Xtina right now.

  • This girl needs to do something about her look immediately. She’s just a blonde Snooki.

    • cmc

Blech, agree. In fact, it may even be an insult to Snooki to compare them.

  • c

“(Christina) is the epitome of The SHOUTING Voice.”

    *fixed it for ya*

    • Xadax

Stupid. No matter what you say, she is the voice of this generation & there is nothing that you could do about it. Those belting & runs that she does are Etta James inspired. If you heard Etta sing live then you would know how to get your sources right – not just go all “SHOUTING” w/ stupidity tsk tsk tsk

  • katherine

So I know this is a bit mean, but 100 lbs (as quoted on the police report)? Really Christina? Maybe in 1999.

    • Dee

      LOL for real

  • rOXy

Homegirl needs to stop drinking immediately. She got a bad case of the blorbs.

  • krissy

I am happy for her that she got this job. She does seem to be the perfect fit for it. From what I have heard, I don’t think that you see the contestants at first, you just HEAR them…which I find very interesting.

    Hit the gym honey…

100 lbs. might have came from her driver’s license info. She is a petite girl and she seems to have small bones, so maybe it’s her real weight. But who cares! People come in different shapes and sizes! She just needs to get her life back in order, that’s the most important thing. She does have talent and it would be a waste if she continues this bad habit of drinking and not get help.

I like the concept of The Voice. The fact that the mentors must choose who they want to work with without seeing them first is a welcome change in these talent shows. American Idol is no longer interesting, the casting shows are the best part along with simon who is gone. I like the fact that the judges must work with the contestants rather than leave them hanging, A lot of talent has slipped through the cracks on American Idol because no one was around to help them choose the right songs. Should be interesting…

I love her and I love Mariah but I’m sorry I don’t think she’s been long enough in the showbusiness to be the epitome of “the voice”. that title is better suited for mariah. or whitney.

  • strawberry

    or celine.
