Earlier this week we saw photos of Twilight stars Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart making their grand arrival in Vancouver, BC to begin filming new scenes for the upcoming sequel film The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn. Today we get to see photos of young actress Mackenzie Foy in Vancouver, BC as well … it is widely believed that she has won the part of Renesmee Cullen — the human/vampire hybrid child of Bella Swan (Stewart) and Edward Cullen (Pattinson).
Mackenzie Foy, the young actress who is playing Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart‘s on-screen daughter in Breaking Dawn, was spotted out and about in Vancouver where she is currently filming the final installment of The Twilight Saga. Mackenzie kept warm in a black down coat as she grabbed groceries with her mom. So cute!
BUT … Entertainment Weekly magazine isn’t so sure that little Mackenzie has been cast as Renesmee. They are reporting that another young actress by the name of Christie Burke might actually play the role of Renesmee:
Could Christie Burke be the lucky young lady tapped to play a grown-up version of Renesmee in The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn? The Internet was abuzz today with the news that the young teen has been cast as an older version of the tiny Bella-Edward spawn, long rumored to be played by 9-year-old Mackenzie Foy. There isn’t a lot of information available on Burke, aside from some commercial credits (Wrigleys!), a guest star role on Tower Prep, and small parts in a couple of movies … When reached by EW, the studio declined to comment.
I dunno … Mackenzie is already in Vancouver … it seems pretty likely to me that she’s the little girl who got the part. Tho, it occurs to me that Mackenzie may play a younger Renesemee and Christie might play an older Renesemee (i.e. the one with make-out scenes with Taylor Lautner‘s character Jacob Black). I guess we’ll just have to wait and see which girl gets the part … or if they both do. Either way, production on Breaking Dawn is moving full steam ahead. I’m sure we’ll be seeing more Twilight stars in Vancouver soon.
As for these young ladies … do YOU think either of them would make a good Renesmee?

I bet both girls get the part, the book makes a pretty big deal out of the fact that Renesmee grows very quickly.
Having watched the three movies, while not having read any of the books, I was gonna say…they must have sped up the timeline for their child to grow up so quickly. Now I know.

i was gonna say i have read the books repeatidly and no where did it say she was gonna kiss jacob . but besides the point i think they will probaly cast both girls and are gonna use a robot as the baby so we will just have to wait until 2011 for the first part and the second in 2012. but back to the kissing part she is still like the size of a 5 year old so it would be super gross if she and him were kissing.
Jacob imprinted on her, she grows faster and stops at a certain age.

According to Team Twilight MacKenzie is playing Renesmee throughout the events of BD…However, Christie was cast to play Renesmee for a “flash forward” scene that supposedly has been written into the movie. It seems Tay-Tay will get some lip-locking time of his own…I can do without the whole Tay-Tay thing honestly, but it would be cool to see Renesmee when she’s fully grown, since the book ends only when she’s around 4 or 5 years old.
but im pretty sure the book said she’ll only age untill 11 then she stops. so she would never be fully grown…or am i remembering that wrong?
Reneeseme will reach full adulthood in 11 years and then stop aging.
Besides I remember Stephanie Meyer and Summit confirming MacKenzie as Renesmee months ago…she’s also already been filming with the rest of the cast out in Baton Rouge. Entertainment Weekly’s got it all twisted…LOL
From what I can recall in the book, they foretold that she would be fully grown looking like a 17 year old…so I get why they casted this girl Christie…

@nicole yeah, you have that wrong. she’ll age until adulthood and then stop ageing. just like the half-vampire, half-human guy that alice brings back to save the cullens at the end of the book. (i’m so ashamed that i know that, lol)

There are going to be make out scenes between Jacob and the little girl? As if the whole an almost adult imprinting(think this is the right word) on a baby wasn’t disturbing enough, now this? I don’t care if it’s the ‘adult’ version of the girl, since she will mostly likely still be child like mentally, that is all kinds of disturbing. Bleh.
Also wasn’t Renesmee suppose to have red or copper colored hair or is my mind mixing up the small things I remember from the series?
I recall reading something about how an aspect of the Mormon doctrine of celestial marriage was a very very young girl with an older man. Hence Edward (117? Haha, I can’t recall exactly) and Bella (18) or Jacob (17?) and Renesmee as a toddler. I haven’t been able to back this up with other documentation, so perhaps the writer made it up. But it fit with the entire storyline… skeezy!
Oh, also – 14 year old Elizabeth Smart and her 50-something “husband”/kidnapper.

According to other blogs with script spoilers, Mackenzie is playing Renesmee for the duration of the film including as a toddler through the use of CGI. This teenage girl Christie will be in one flash forward scene, probably with no dialogue and possibly with Mackenzie’s aged face digitized over hers. Let’s all not get too excited!

Why are these actresses so old? 9? and an even older woman? In the book renesmee is only a few weeks old. She goes from the size of a new born to the size of a two year old. This is disappointing.
So do you think they might have to role a baby for the beginning when RC is born and when she is supposed to turn 2

Bella Thorne is too old for the part of Renesmee…she’s turning like 12 right?? Mackenzie Foy is nine, so she would be the better pick considering she’s younger. (She sorta looks like Bella Thorne anyway! LOL)
