Kristen Stewart Does ‘Vogue’ Magazine

Kristen Stewart, who is featured underneath Robert Pattinson in the just-released promo photo from the upcoming sequel film The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, is featured on the cover and in the pages of the new issue of Vogue magazine. Photographed by Mario Testino, Stewart is the February coverstar and photo scans & interview quotes from her Vogue feature have made their way to the Internets.

“I choose things that are so overly ambitious,” Kristen tells Vogue. And the actress has chosen well! She’s skyrocketed to success with The Twilight Saga but has maintained her humble beauty without a trace of ego. Bill Condon, the director of Breaking Dawn, reveals to the mag that, “Kristen was the top of my list of reasons to do this movie.”

On finding a good part: ”A compulsion absolutely fills you”
On returning to the Twilight set: “[It was] like going back to school… Twilight is a different beast.”
On getting into acting: ”I don’t think I would ever have been able to be an actress had I not started at nine years old. I would have been the last person to stand up and say, ‘I’d like to star in the play.”
On trusting her friends: ”You build a perimeter of people that are really important to you.”
On her privacy: ”There’s no way to eloquently put this. I just can’t go to the mall. It bothers me that I can’t be outside very often. And also to not ever be ’some girl’ again. Just being some chick at some place, that’s gone.”
On why she stays mum about her relationship with Robert Pattinson: ”It’s not my job.”

I suspect higher quality photos from this Vogue feature will be made available shortly but these photo scans just couldn’t be contained. As I understand it, K. Stew was supposed to cover an issue of Vogue last Summer but she got pushed aside and the cover went to Blake Lively. This February cover seems more timely, to be honest. Altho we still have many months ahead to get thru before The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1 hits theaters, it’s never too soon to get the promo hype machine going. Kristen looks pretty fab in these photos, I can’t wait to see more.

I honestly think she looks quite strange on the cover photo. She looks scared; a bit awkward, like she doesn’t know what she’s supposed to do or how she’s supposed to look. But that’s K.Stew for you…a bit left of the middle.

    • @Mariah — re: the “scared” look. to me, it’s classic K. Stew. it’s a photo where she’s not made to look like anyone else, she’s just being herself (which, apparently, looks “scared”)

    • krissy

I think that is what makes her such a good actress. She doesn’t look dead behind the eyes, there is always something going on there. A vulnerablity and a toughness. (and fyi-I am not a Twi-hard, I have only seen her in other films.)

  • damourkrist

This was suppose to come out because she thought she would be Oscar nominated for that stripper film that bombed. Summit made sure they put her there.

    • krissy

I completely disagree, the facts don’t support your claims. The stripper film didn’t “bomb”, it was a limited release. If they would have wanted to get her an Oscar nomination, they would have released the film MUCH later in the year AND they would have their distributor pay for a “For Your Consideration” campaign. The lack of a FYC campaign shows they had no expectation of a nomination.

im not big on the cover..i agree with Mariah..she looks kinda scared. the one in the green dress looks a little ‘meh’ too. but i kinda like one in the reddish dress.
but that line; “I choose things that are so overly ambitious,” ….do we really think Bella is an overly ambitious character for her to play? cause IMO..she doesnt always do her justice.

  • KC

Her eyebrows looks oddly large and too dark for her hair color.

Just my opinion. The bottom 2 pics aren’t bad though.

  • Jasmine

Honestly, I don’t see the appeal with her at all. She’s a terrible actress ! I haven’t been impressed with any of her movies, I feel like once the Twilight hype dies she’s going to fade away too.

    • Elissa

Agreed… She doesn’t seem to have that much appeal with out a handsome co-star standing beside her.

  • torrie

Love the inside pics, for sure. I don’t get Kristen to be honest. But big picture, I agree with Jasmine – after the films are done, she’ll be able to go to the mall again. While I’m sure that’s hardly her primary concern, I too would be frustrated with that level of attention…

  • Sara

I don’t think she tends to look scared, I think she looks MISERABLE, and from what I’ve gleaned from her interviews, that’s not far from the truth. She doesn’t seem to like any of this “hollywood” stuff, yet she wants to be a big actor. At some point you just need to suck it up and FAKE LIKE YOU ARE HAVING FUN. haha

    • blaqfury

Agreed! She looks miserable like that is the last place she wants to be. The cover definitely isn’t drawing me in to want to buy the magazine…

  • Amanda G

    That is a terrible cover…

  • Chase

    Did my comment get deleted?

  • Doreen

Awful pics of her! She always looks doped up and miserable! It’s amazing that she’s the same girl that was in the movie, “Panic Room”. She was pretty good in that movie but the Twilight series…I do think they could’ve chosen a more lively character!! She hardly ever smiles and she is a pretty bad actress.

  • Tracy

    LOL!! Poor Kristen…

  • holly

i think her cover is beautiful and by the looks of the pics she seems to have only gotten prettier as time goes on. i really enjoy hearing about her and robert p.

  • Nate

She looks so much younger with blond hair. Anyhoo… I wish she would stop dicking around and come out all ready.

    • Mimi

She is soooo OVERRATED!Omg I’m hella over her already. “I choose things that are so overly ambitious” Man are you f*ckin kidding me?! LMFAO

  • Kristel

Great actress with a refreshing attitude! “It’s not my job.” – brilliant! :D
