On New Year’s Day we saw photos of a sad-looking Taylor Swift hanging out with some friends in Nashville, TN lookin’ about as disconsolate as I had never seen her before. Just a few days later, we learned that her blink-and-you-missed-it romance with Jake Gyllenhaal had come to a sudden end. Today we get to see more photos of sad Taylor out and about all by her lonesome on her way to band practice in Nashville. After reading the reported reason for Jake‘s split from Taylor, I TOTALLY get why she is lookin’ SO BUMMED these days.
Taylor Swift, 21, may be hard at work penning her next break-up ballad — sources confirm to UsMagazine.com that she and Jake Gyllenhaal, 30, have ended their brief romance. “Jake reached out to her and started all of this, but now he’s not acting as interested,” a source reveals in the new issue of Us Weekly (on stands Wednesday). The previously inseparable pair called it quits just before New Year’s Eve, then rang in 2011 separately. “He said he wasn’t feeling it anymore and was uncomfortable with all the attention they got,” says the insider of the just over two-month romance. “He also said he could feel the age difference. Taylor is really upset. We told her not to move so fast with this but she didn’t listen.” Explains a Gyllenhaal insider, “Jake cares about her, but [the publicity] was a lot for him. He wants to keep his private life private, and that’s hard to do dating Taylor.”
Dude … getting’ dumped SUCKS hardcore. Getting dumped by someone as hot as Jake Gyllenhaal IN FRONT OF THE WORLD must be the biggest of bum out of ALL TIME. In all honesty, I really like Taylor Swift … I just never thought she was at all right for someone like Jakey poo. Now that she’s all sad and mopey (and on her way to band practice), I’m certain a song or two will come from her most recent heartbreak. Buck up, little one … you have a long life ahead of romance and lurve to look forward to.
Hasn’t every one of his recent relationships been with people just as or more famous than Taylor? Sounds like just an excuse to me.

I don’t think he sounds like a shit, he sounds like a human being. They weren’t together that long, just getting to know each other. It isn’t as if they dated for a year and then he dropped her out of no where. He ended it REALLY early. Also, if you are dating another celeb and then paparazzi “just happen” to know where you are every minute of the day, you start to get suspicious.

I understand him wanting to keep his private life private, maybe he should take a break from dating for a bit. I’m not trying to talk badly about Jake but it seems to me like he began this relationship without all his emotions in it, or that he wasn’t looking for it to be a serious thing. Taylor seems like a hopeless romantic to me, which is probably why she seems to fall so hard, I think she also needs to take a break from dating for awhile-maybe get her feet in the ground more and get to know herself before she forms a relationship with another.
It kind of annoys me when people bring up ‘age difference’ when breaking up or the reason why a relationship didn’t last. One cannot judge another based on their age, I know people in their forties/fifties that are very immature, and I know five year old that are extremely mature. I know a few relationships that have a huge age gap(from anywhere to eight to fifteen years between the two people)yet they have been together for a long time. So I wouldn’t say it’s age, but more the people themselves, different views, personalities etc, that make a relationship clash and end up breaking. Well that and I think a lot of people get into relationships when they aren’t emotionally stable and then they end up relying on the other person for emotional support a large majority of the time and it can be really stressful.
Anyways, wish them both luck and that they find happiness soon :)
I fully agree on the ‘hopeless romantic’ bit. Taylor seems to fall deeply in love with every single person she’s linked to, then she’s heartbroken and publicly mopey after it doesn’t work out. She definitely has some growing up to do, which I don’t fault her for because I was the same at 21.
However, I’m kind of sick of being sold the doe-eyed sweet innocent card when she’s dated half of Hollywood. Taylor is not exactly inexperienced at dating…every time I turn around, she has a new boyfriend! Sigh….
It sounds like a lame excuse to me. The publicity etc? He’s dated other people in the public eye before. Only way I’ll buy this is if he dates someone non-famous next. It seems mean to toy with a girl’s emotions that way. While I didn’t think they were a great match, being broken up with sucks. Can not wait for the song… there better not be a “contract” for her to not be able to write one!!
Would we necessarily know if he had dated someone totally non-famous? He’s not always photographed by himself, he could be good at managing it when there isn’t another celeb to push things over the top.
Also, he dated Reese Witherspoon for a long time, and she’s very good at keeping her private life private. We see pictures of her sometimes, but it’s def not even close to every day and we definitely don’t get tons of inside info on her.
I think it is funny how a picture of Taylor not smiling at a camera and people think she is sad. She is in Nashville and the paps do not belong there. She has always stated that she loves living in Nashville due to the fact that there is no paparazzi. I can understand Taylor looking upset and not wanting to smile when people are taking pictures of her living her everyday normal life.
I agree. Plus she could just be stuck in traffic, which is never something that makes anyone smile.
Lol they were pr dating. You know faking it. Taylor has learned the pity party game from Jennifer Aniston and playing it to death. They only reason to play these stupid game is she has no real talent and that’s the only way she can get fans. Jake should never have played that sick game with her.

I, too, believe that IF the story is true, he is just making excuses for not being interested anymore, and that’s kinda shitty. Like…we’re going to know if he is with someone, famous or not.
Unless, of course, for some reason they never EVER go out into the light of day together. How many “Who’s that?” pictures has Trent put up of other famous people with random strangers we don’t recognize?
But NATURALLY you would assume that if you get together with another famous person, then it will be big news. If they just let it go, it would flare out eventually, but he obviously wasn’t REALLY interested in her in the first place. It’s just kinda childish. Hollywood is like high school sometimes.
