Singer Omarion REPORTEDLY Comes Out As Bisexual [UPDATE]

The website Bossip has published a quote reportedly attributed to singer Omarion that claims he is bisexual. It’s unclear where exactly this reported statement from Omarion comes from but if true, this would be a huge admission from a very popular music star.

“I pride myself in being an honest, God Fearing, respectful man. I have kept my personal life private and wanted to keep it that way. Unfortunately, others are interested in profiting from my anguish; so before they can do that, i will clarify things. I am not at all what certain ex-band members are trying to paint me as, I am however a respectable, mature, proud, bisexual man.”

In recent days, there’s been a bit of back and forth feuding between Omarion and THIS blog over Omarion’s sexuality. Again, take this statement with a huge grain of salt … but if it is true, I would be very proud of Omarion for feeling comfortable enough with himself to share this part of his personal life with the public.

UPDATE: Omarion posted a message on his official Twitter profile denying that he released the statement above, he tweets:

Well, I guess that straightens things out.

  • I don’t believe this. I’m think I’m gonna wait for a Real confirmation. But if it’s true, that would be huge. A singer of R&B/Hip Hop admitting that he likes men too…that’s just very daring and brave.

    • Why can i delete comments? I hate when i make mistakes. My english is getting very bad lately T_T

  • I checked out that other site to see who this guy is. – What the fuck was that? –

  • Lynne

Hmmmm… interesting. I’ve been hearing rumors about him for awhile now mostly due to alarming accusations from his ex B2k member, Raz B…

  • Jackie

Well if it’s true then good for him!! I believe you live a happier life when you don’t have to hide any secrets. I am bi myself and am a rapper in progress so I understand why he kept it in for so long. God bless him.

I think bisexuals are sometimes more frowned upon in society because technically you’re not gay or straight and most people usually respect someone more if they say they’re gay rather than bisexual, but that’s just my opinion.

  • Katmoww

I totally forgot he even existed.

  • CJ

His official Twitter feed says he didn’t make the statement.

“Check it out ‘I DID NOT RELEASE THAT STATEMENT’,whatever you like is your business but I AINT GAY OR BISEXUAL,I love women PERIOD!!!!!!!”

  • I don’t really care but this is funny

I hit twitter to see if it was true and he posted it no sooner than I checked.

“Check it out ‘I DID NOT RELEASE THAT STATEMENT’,whatever you like is your business but I AINT GAY OR BISEXUAL,I love women PERIOD!!!!!!! less than 5 seconds ago via web ”

Honestly I don’t find him attractive at all so he can stay straight for all I care.

This is however an endless source of entertainment.

The music industry is very anti-bisexuality in men. However, it is very pro-bisexuality in women. It’s basically like the porn industry. In most porn movies that contain men and women, female bisexuality is welcomed but male bisexuality is banned.

It’s a very sleazy double standard. I call it the bisexual double standard. Women are to blame for it. The gay community needs to criticize these women.

    • Kristin

How about nobody needs to be criticizing anybody?…

    • I agree with Kristin – let’s all fuck who we want to fuck and not care who else is fucking whoever. We as people need to stop hating each other and get our shit together and take care of some real problems.

    • tim

Im agree with Jason. This hypocrisy and double standsrds – disgusting!

    • josh

Women aren’t to blame for this; rather, straight men who get turned on by the sight of two women hooking up but get repelled at the image of two men doing the same are the ones who push this double standard.

    • tim

But many girls like gay porn too!

    • ella

Uh… women aren’t anymore to blame for it than men, and men are arguably more to blame for it. Many heterosexual men are very invested in policing masculinity, and that means an extreme reaction against bisexual and homosexual men.

    • tim

Most guys are bi or bi-curious. But male homoerotism is a tabboo. And this very big problem. “Straight” porn industry imposes double standards on bisexuality. But all are silent!!!!!!!!

    • tim

Until fucking christianity male bisexuality was a norm! No any conflicts with their masculinity!

    • Sarah

the woman are to blame? A person who is gay, straight, bisexual, whatever is not the one to blame, the a-hole who has a problem with it is the one to blame! The double standard isn’t created by those woman, it’s created by the industry

    • perdiz

the women? you want to blame women that society is more accepting of female bisexuality than male bisexuality? that in itself is discriminating.

    • tim

this is hypocricy! male bisexuality = female bisexuality.

  • nicole

dont believe anything Bossip says…99% of the time that site has its info wrong, its a horrible & hateful site.

  • Nunya

    Thank God he’s straight, he’s fugly…

  • Who is he, anyway? I can’t even think of one song.

  • Smoo

    really?! Popular? Who is he?

  • outtah duh closet

denial!!! i have on gud authority that he is in fact a flaming queen. He and trey songz both as well as ne-yo. they have all been caught!

  • ella

i like that Omarion clearly does not know how to use quotation marks.

  • Sarah

popular? When was the last time he had a song? 1998?

  • batkiss

Using the word “ain’t” insures you’ll not be taken seriously.

  • Sercrets or Not

Personally I would love to see a Bi Male Rap/Hiphop Artist in the rap industry. There are plenty of guys out there (much like myself) are struggling with their sexuality. And to see a prominent figure or a icon go against society as being a openly gay/bi rapper may give many the courage to come out and be themselves, as well as, spawn a movement that no one would think could ever happen.

But of course this is my opinion on what I would like to see within the next decade, but only time will tell.
