‘Skins’ Season 5 Releases A New Video Trailer & Unveils New Opening Titles

Last week we learned the happy news that the 5th season of the UK TV series Skins will debut internationally on January 27 and today we get our FIRST LOOK at a just-released promo trailer as well as the totally revamped new opening title video for the show. As you may know, the 5th season of Skins will introduce an entirely new cast of characters and these videos give us our first look at the new gang in action.
This trailer is a bit arty … but it is very compelling. The completely nude cast falls and falls and falls until they fall into their clothes and then, presumably, onto the ground. Check out this new trailer in full:
Equally exciting is the release of the opening titles video for the 5th season of Skins. Altho the theme music is in there … kinda … this new opening title video is a pretty big departure for the show. Check out the video in full:
Skins has been one of my favorite TV shows in the past few years and I have high hopes that the new season of the show will carry on the tradition of excellence. While I am very worried about the US version of Skins, set to debut here in the US on MTV next month, I have no doubt that the original UK version of Skins will continue to entertain. Skins is fantastic … I can’t recommend it more! Catch up with seasons 1-4 and then get ready for Skins 5 debuting on E4 in the UK on Jan. 27.

Like, a lot. Trent, you are the reason I got into this show and I can’t thank you enough! I ordered Series 1+2 last Christmas from Amazon (and then 3 on my birthday) and got my sister hooked on it. For Christmas this year my sister got me a ukulele because of Series 4 when JJ serenades his woman. I cannot wait until the new Series begins!
me too. Have not been able to get ss 4 as it is not on Netflix yet… I don’t understand how the US version even can be compared. Isn’t the swearing and sex and inappropriate behavior that can’t be shown on US tv part of Skins UK’s entire premise?
That is why we have hbo, showtime and partially fx. MTV is just wannabe messed up.

Same here! Only reason I started watching is because of you Trent. Got hooked from the opening sequence in series 1. Does anyone know where series 4 is available to watch online? Netflix only has 1-3.
i think http://www.tv-dome.net has season 4 available… or at least it did a couple of months ago.
Oh I’m so happy that skins is returning soon! Although I must admit, I’m not overly keen on this opening theme as I was the original, but I have the original set as the ringtone on my cell so at least i can listen to it when someone calls me :p
PS have you tried watching Misfits? It also comes on E4, but is more lighthearted and quirky compared to skins.
‘Skins’ is hands down my favorite show, and I’m waiting with bated breath for Series 5! I actually love the new intro (although the twinkly old intro will always hold a special place in my heart).
