Scarlett Johansson, newishly split from her hubby Ryan Reynolds, has surfaced on the island nation of Jamaica with a few of her female BFFs in an apparent holiday getaway from all the hullabaloo that is going around since news of her break-up came out earlier this week. Days after announcing the end of her two-year marriage to Ryan Reynolds, a tense-looking Scarlett Johansson was spotted in Jamaica on Thursday with a group of friends. The 26-year-old allegedly initiated the split from Ryan, 34, after the stress of being apart all the time became too much for her to take. And now it looks as if she is escaping the divorce drama by laying low on the Caribbean island to regroup and and get some support from her pals. Wearing a white fedora, blue shorts and a grey tank top over a yellow bikini, the actress looked sombre and subdued as she carried a copy of Vanity Fair with Johnny Depp on the cover. Scarlett and Ryan released a statement on [Tuesday] saying: ‘After long and careful consideration on both our parts, we’ve decided to end our marriage. ‘We entered our relationship with love and it’s with love and kindness we leave it. While privacy isn’t expected, it’s certainly appreciated.’ ‘Scarlett has been unhappy for a while and wanted the separation,’ a source told Us magazine. And although Ryan tried to mend the damage, they both recently accepted the relationship was over. At first it was … let’s fix this,’ a source tells People magazine. ‘And then it got to the point where it was just, if it’s not working, it’s not working. He’s an adult, and he finally just said they should stop. ‘They’re doing it this way because there’s no drama, there’s no cheating, there’s no nothing. These are just two people who love each other who are not going to be together anymore.’

I say the couple “newishly split” because it was revealed yesterday that ScarJo and Ryan have been apart for some time. In fact, Scarlett was spotted with a handsome mystery man in Barcelona, Spain just a few months ago … well ahead of the couple’s joint split announcement this past Tuesday. It’s sad that these two had to break up but, again, I have to reiterate the fact that it doesn’t come as a big surprise to me. They may have been married for 2 years but I doubt they spent even half that time together. Maybe their break-up came about because of their different work schedules … who knows? While Scarlett has her ladies to help her deal with the break-up, here’s hoping that Ryan has his buddies to help him as well. Ryan, I am here and willing to offer my shoulder to cry on. Gimme a call, K? It’s the least I can do :D
