Getting Back In The Game
The TV Guide

A couple of weeks ago, David and I were lucky enough to attend a preview screening of Tron: Legacy at the El Capitan Theater in Hollywood, CA. I haven’t been able to talk about the film … until now. If you see one 3D film this holiday season, it must be Tron: Legacy. Despite the fact that most films are going 3D just for the hype factor, Tron: Legacy actually makes amazing use of the technology:

Legacy starts out a few years after the end of the action from the original 1982 film Tron. As you might expect, a series of events force the characters to go back into The Grid (i.e. the digital video game world of Tron) where they meet other characters who are already there. I will say that the story is a bit heavy in that you get a whole lotta explanation thrown at you in a short period of time. And the one thing I didn’t like was the CGI youngification of Jeff Bridges‘s face. That said, the 3D effects are so inviting that you actually feel like you are in The Grid yourself. The action scenes are fantastic and the story from Tron has been carried over and updated nicely for this new sequel. The movie is really an experience … one that both David and I enjoyed very much. It’s deffo one of those movies that you should check out over the holidays after it gets released on the 17th.

Last night, David and I met up with Emma, Josh and Guy for an impromptu Hanukkah dinner at Greenblatt’s Delicatessen before making our way to Basix for drinks and dessert with Michael and Sam:

All in all we had a great night hanging out with friends last night. Tonight, my other BFF Josh and I will be making our way downtown to Club Nokia to see Brendan Benson live in concert. I love my Detroit homeboy so it’ll be very cool to see him play live again.

It’s the weekend, y’all! Have a great one!!

@TRENT – That cake looks so good. Have you been to The Nickle Diner in downtown LA? They make the most amazing deserts. One of them is a fantastic red velvet cake. It must not be missed. Also checkout the home made ding dongs, pop tarts and the Cher cupcake.

@trent – How did you make your pictures of your dinner at the Greenblatt’s Delicatessen look so old? Did you use a special camera or a program?
