Zac Efron is lookin’ beefy and hawt on the set of his new film The Lucky One which is based on a novel by Nicholas Sparks. In the film, Efron plays a discharged US Marine sergeant in search of the mystery woman whose picture he carries around as a good luck charm. Clearly the film is meant to be another Nicholas Sparks tear-jerker … but, as you can see, Zac is gonna bring the hotness as well:

I am a much bigger fan of the more grown-up and bulked out Zac Efron rather than the tweeny skinny moppet he used to be. The shorter hair looks great on him … as do those beefy arms. After the jump, check out one more promo photo of Zac Efron on the set of his new film The Lucky One …

Is that a barbed wire tattoo I spy on Zac‘s upper arm? HMM. I wonder if Zac‘s character, Sergeant Logan Thibault, has any other tattoos that we will get to see when The Lucky One hits theaters next year. I’ll admit it, I’m a sucker for Nicholas Sparks movies … I enjoyed Dear John starring Channing Tatum. I think I might have to see this one starring Zac Efron … who’s with me?

I just read this book and can’t wait!
@Me LMAO! Hilarious… What has happened over the past year that made Zac Efron so F-ing hot?!?! I never got into him before but lately Im like… yum yum!
Epic casting FAIL. Logan is supposed to be in his 30′s with long hair. Nicholas Sparks really needs to make sure he has more control over who does his movies. I’m still gonna see The Lucky One because the book was fantastic, but Dear John was an epic fail of a movie, as well.
Although, I guess I can’t complain about Zac given the way the book ends. That might actually be really hot. =D
hot hot hot

When he was a teeny bopper in HSM he was okay but now he’s bringing the heat.
And the shorter hair and buff body does fit him, hope he keeps it up.
I love Nicholas Sparks’ book-movies so I’ll check it out. :)
I don’t know how they expect this movie to appeal to women over the age or 20. I’m 28 and I simply cannot get past “this is the kid from HSM” – there’s just no way.
OTOH – I really like Taylor Schilling (even if that whole atlas shrugged thing was…unwatchable) – I thought Mercy was a pretty great show and I’m glad to see her getting work. So if anyone brings me to this movie, it will be her and not the beefed up tweeny bopper.
