Yesterday we saw video of actress and sometimes singer Gwyneth Paltrow making her Country Music debut with a live performance of Country Strong on the 44th Annual Country Music Association Awards and right now we get to see another video performance from chanteuse Gwyn. As you may recall, we learned last week that Gwyneth will be appearing on next Tuesday’s episode of Glee as a substitute music teacher named Holly Holliday. Here are a few screencaps from Ms. Holliday‘s performance of the Cee Lo song Forget You on Glee:
First, I really love the Cee Lo song Forget You and it’s far superior more explicit incarnation titled Fuck You so, yeah, the song is a win in my book … but I guess you’ll just have to hear it for yourself to make the final determination. I’m not sure how I feel about the Singin’ in the Rain/Umbrella mash-up … I really want it to work but I’m not sure that it does. The showtunes are pretty standard … and totally Glee. I can’t wait to see these performances in full on Tuesday’s episode of Glee. What do y’all think? Which track is your fave? What do you think of the songs over all?

LOL…I like it! I think she does well, I mean this is Glee we are talking about.
She sounds like a white girl trying to be funky..Doesn’t work for me..Then again, I really don’t like the Paltrow so maybe that’s why? The rest of the songs sound kind of boring..I hope the non-song parts of the episode make up for it! Man..I really sound like a negative Nancy, eh?

As a rule, I hate the change of Fuck You to Forget You. As a rule, I generally dislike Gwyneth Paltrow. However, somehow, someway the two together just seem to work. I’m on the fence for the mashup. I think they fit the songs together pretty well, but I feel like it would sound better sung by the kids than Will/Holly.
@krissy – I watched the clip of her performance and the whole thing is awkward. Paltrow makes the worst faces and it’s just… really… awful.

There is no “Forget You” song. The song loses its impact with the change.
I love her skirt and I think that looks like the most fun music class ever! I also want to know why Rachel is pissed! Loyalty to Schue? I just love this show so much!
I agree with @luv ya. The impact of the song is lost when changed. Maybe if I hadnt heard the original explicit version first I would feel differently but right now listening to it just makes me want the real one.
I’m sorry, but her voice just isn’t good enough. If that amazing song is going to be covered, it should be with someone with a more soulful voice.
hahaha there is actually a version “Forget you” instead of Fuck you??? Lmao, that is ridic. I am so thankful that i don’t live in a “political correctness gone mad” type country and therefore have never heard the cee lo song “forget you” before :)

I hate that it’s not “Fuck You” … but it wasn’t bad. She seemed to be having fun (or at least acting)… which is cool. I dunno. Whatever.
Maybe I’m the minority here but I prefer ‘Forget you’ to ‘Fuck You’ to me it’s a more mature way of handling the situation.
