Last Saturday we got our first look at the first video footage released from the upcoming big screen adaptation of the DC Comics series Green Lantern and today we get to see the film’s first movie trailer in full. This trailer is about 2 1/2 minutes long and it shows quite a lot … including the infamous Green Lantern villain Dr. Hector Hammond (played by Peter Sarsgaard) and villain-to-be Sinestro (played by Mark Strong). Here are a few screencaps:

Thankfully this trailer is presented in HD so the GGI effects don’t look as worrisome as they did in the grainy video we saw last weekend. My confidence in the film is renewed after seeing this trailer … and I cannot wait to see more. After the jump, check out the first FULL trailer for Green Lantern …
Yes … this looks good. Not only does Ryan Reynolds look great as People magazine’s Sexiest Man Alive but he also looks pretty great in the guise of the Green Lantern. So far … so good, I think. What do y’all think of this trailer? Are you impressed?

Trailers can always be deceiving. Hopefully this one isn’t!
Looks good…I will totally watch it but I am a little disappointed that “Gossip Girl” is in it…she doesn’t look like her acting skills can handle this kind of movie…I guess we will see!
EHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH… the premise and the plot look ridiculous. I mean, I know it’s all about the special effects with superhero movies, but oyyyyyy.
@CHASE — The premise and plot of this film is based on a hugely successful comic book series. I think it’ll do just fine ;)
“Hal, this is AN important TEST”
for the love of god, BLAKE LIVELY? As a PILOT?? REALLY?
@tessa — LOL :)
Looks like they’re trying to tie in the Parralax story line with the origin. A bit early for that, but all in all, it looks pretty good.
@Trenty poo – Oh, no doubt will this movie do good, but the quality doesn’t look good, but it doesn’t really matter with superhero movies ’cause it’s all about special effects, like I stated. I just looks rushed, BB.
@CHASE — ;)
i had the same feelings about blake lively when the cast was first announced.. however, after watching her in “the town” i think she has a good deal of talent that i just don’t think as been tapped into with her other projects.. so she might be good in this..
the trailer/movie looks uhh to me.. nothing really great but will see it just because i adore ryan reynolds..
since it looks like about half of the movie is cgi, i sure hope the effects looks better on the big screen than they just did on my laptop. it’s gonna be hard to enjoy ryan reynold’s body when it looks like it’s floating above his green sexy man suit..
woops.. i mean it’ll be hard to enjoy his body when it looks like his head is floating etc etc:)
[...] official trailer per se but did feature a lot of footage from the film. In November of last year, we got to see the first official trainer released for Green Lantern. Today we get to see a newly released trailer for Lantern that shows us what the central plot of [...]
