Is Wills gonna get 'Wet'?
It looks like EVERYONE is getting excited for the wedding of Prince William of Wales to his longtime girlfriend Kate Middleton … everyone including Snoop Dogg. Snoop has issued a press release announcement today letting the world know that he wrote a song for Prince William‘s upcoming bachelor party. The song is called Wet. Read on:
Today, international superstar and music icon, Snoop Dogg is releasing his brand new single entitled “Wet” via SnoopDogg.com at 4:20 pm PST, an anthem made for Prince William’s bachelor party and all bachelor parties around the world to follow. It is the second single to release from Snoop Dogg’s forthcoming 11th studio album entitled, Doggumentary Music coming March 2011. “When I heard the royal family wanted to have me perform in celebration of Prince William’s marriage, I knew I had to give them a little something,” says Snoop. “’Wet’ is the perfect anthem for Prince William or any playa to get the club smokin’.” Produced by The Cataracs, “Wet” can arguably be the follow-up song to the Grammy-nominated single “Sensual Seduction.” From its hypnotizing beat to its alluring and lustful lyrics, “Wet” will sure to be the official nightclub song of 2011. Additionally, Snoop is asking his fans to create a video of them dancing to the new single “Wet.” The fan that garners the most video views, will win a trip to the U.K. courtesy of Snoop to celebrate the release of “Wet” in royal fashion. Fans can enter the contest by uploading their videos to YouTube and/or tweeting the video link to @SnoopDogg with the hashtag #WET. All contestants must title their YouTube video “Snoop Dogg Wet Dance.”
Um …. yeah. While I would love for any song to get Prince Wills to “get the club smokin’”, I find it very hard to envision. Still … if anyone can turn William into a pimp, it’s Snoop Dogg. I can’t wait to hear what Wet sounds like … can you?
Kylie goes back to school
Kylie Minogue took some time out of her bizzy NYC schedule to pay a visit to PS22 school in Staten Island, NY to do a little singin’ with the 5th graders there. The PS22 Chorus is no stranger to performing with superstar performers (like Tori Amos, among others) but I’m sure they were quite happy to add Kylie to their list of famous collaborators. Here are a few photos of Kylie performing with the kids from the PS22 Chorus:
Get ready for something REALLY special!! Today the PS22 Chorus hosted a visit from the AMAZING Ms. Kylie Minogue, who made a special trip out to Staten Island to spend some time with the kids! Kylie has been a long time fan of PS22, tweeting about the kids on more than one occasion, so it’s safe to say that everybody was extremely psyched for this collaboration! [T]he kids joined Kylie on her mega-hit, “Can’t Get You Out Of My Head” which we recreated PS22 style! Kylie blew us away with her incredible vocals on this acoustic rendition! The kids sound haunting and yet somehow are having a blast at the same time! … I can’t say enough great things about Kylie! She is truly a wonderful spirit and completely enchanted us all, kids and grown-up types alike!! Speaking of which, big thanks to Mr. Eberle for his amazing guitar work and to Ms. Lisa for her spectacular video footage!! Also much thanks to Ms. Laurie (and again Ms. Lisa) for the fantastic pics!!
Kylie + kids = OMFG SO CUTE!! After the jump, check out videos of Kylie‘s performance with the kids of the PS22 Chorus … More »
"I was a guitarist, and that's what I wanted to do."
Johnny Depp, who stars in the upcoming new film The Tourist with Angelina Jolie, is featured on the cover and in the pages of the new issue of Vanity Fair magazine (for the second year in a row). Here is our first look at Johnny‘s new VF cover and some excerpts from his coverstory interview:
Angelina Jolie’s latest big fan? Johnny Depp. “Meeting her and getting to know her was a real pleasant surprise,” the actor, 47, who stars with Jolie in the upcoming film The Tourist, tells rocker Patty Smith in an interview for Vanity Fair. “You don’t know what she might be like – if she has any sense of humor at all. I was so pleased to find that she is incredibly normal,” he added, “and has a wonderfully kind of dark, perverse sense of humor.” In fact, Depp, a three-time Oscar nominee, compares Oscar winner Jolie, 35, to another Hollywood leading lady – one from an earlier generation. “I’ve had the honor and the pleasure and gift of having known Elizabeth Taylor for a number of years,” Depp says. “You know, you sit down with her, she slings hash, she sits there and cusses like a sailor, and she’s hilarious. Angie’s got the same kind of thing, you know, the same approach.” Depp says he also feels a measure of sympathy for Jolie and her family, who deal with the harshest glare of fame. “Poor thing, dogged by paparazzi, her and her husband, Brad [Pitt] … all their kids,” he says. “There are times when you see how ridiculous is this life, how ludicrous it is, you know, leaving your house every morning and being followed by paparazzi.” The actor also touches on a number of other subjects, including Disney executives’ shocked reaction to his Jack Sparrow performance. “I think it was Michael Eisner … who was quoted as saying, ‘He’s ruining the movie,’ ” says Depp, who also talks about his early dreams of being a rock star. “I was a guitarist, and that’s what I wanted to do.” And he reveals what could be an interesting future project. “[Marlon Brando said,] Why don’t you just take a year and go and study Shakespeare, or go and study Hamlet. Go and work on Hamlet and play that part. Play that part before you’re too old … And I would like to. I’d really, really like to.”
While I am looking forward to seeing the next installment of the Pirates of the Caribbean film franchise, On Stranger Tides, I’m not the least bit interested in seeing The Tourist. I had no idea that Johnny had only first met Angelina when they filmed this movie together but not even the pairing of two of the most high-paid actors in the world is enough to pique my interest. From all the preview material I’ve seen, the movie looks completely uninteresting to me. Still, I am a fan of Depp himself so … this Vanity Fair interview is deffo worth a read. The Never Ending Story
Over the weekend we learned that Jake Gyllenhaal and Taylor Swift had taken their coffee drinking dates from Brooklyn, NY to Nashville, TN and today we learn that the couple have done it AGAIN! Jake and Taylor were spotted together at the Frothy Monkey in Nashville earlier today and according to eyewitnesses, they were acting like “more than friends”:
After being spotted getting cozy at a coffee shop in Tennessee this weekend, rumored couple Jake Gyllenhaal, 29, and Taylor Swift, 20, enjoyed another intimate cup of joe at the Frothy Monkey in Nashville this morning. Sources tell us the duo have been in the past several mornings and “looked like they were more than friends” … whatever that means.
This is just so weird. I mean … c’mon … how much coffee can two people drink? None of this makes any sense at all … NONE! I just … can’t …
Is there a support group that I can join or … something?
Edited For Broadcast Version
Yesterday it was reported that the new 30 Seconds to Mars music video for their new single Hurricane had been banned from being broadcast on TV … but, that band has no bearing on the video being shown online so today we get to see the full, 13 minute music video in its full and uncensored form. Leto gave an interview to Entertainment Weekly about the banning of Hurricane and revealed that he was surprised the video didn’t pass muster with the network censors, particularly because the version they submitted was not as explicit as the original version they created:
Jared Leto wasn’t completely surprised when TV networks refused to air his band’s racy “Hurricane” video. “We always knew there would be some images that would have a tough time getting through,” says the Thirty Seconds to Mars singer, who called the Music Mix while driving to the band’s next gig in Brighton, England today. “But we didn’t expect this kind of pushback that we’re getting now.” In fact, the “Hurricane” clip that 30STM submitted for TV had already been edited down from the original. “I had always planned on having an explicit version and then a version that was not so explicit,” Leto says. “The version that we were trying to get on broadcast is not the explicit version, and that’s still having a really difficult time.” Leto wonders just why the networks were so offended by the video’s sexual images. “I’m not interested in provocation for provocation’s sake,” he says. “I just think it’s interesting that when you turn on the news or whatever else catches your interest, how much violence and negativity is available out there. As soon as it comes time for sexuality, it’s a big shock that people are sexual beings. It’s an interesting double standard to me.” Now he is debating how whether to edit “Hurricane” further to meet TV standards. “You know, at another time I would say, ‘Absolutely not.’ I would refuse 1,000 percent to change what I felt was important. But with this film, I’m not so sure I would cut off the nose to spite its face, so to speak…There are creative solutions to every problem. Certainly it would be difficult for people to air a 13-minute-long music video slash short film, regardless of the content. I think people have dealt with this in different ways in the past. People have made cuts.
Yes, people do make cuts … in fact, 30 Seconds to Mars made cuts to Hurricane so that it could be broadcast on MTV. The video, clocking in at 13 minutes long, has already aired on MTV in its censored version a few times. After the jump, check out the video in its edited for broadcast, NSFW form. While the video isn’t all that explicit, there is female nudity and there are many scenes that are deffo not suitable for watching at work … More »
The TV Guide
Altho David and I were invited to a private event at the Ennis House here in LA (designed by famed architect Frank Lloyd Wright) we decided not to attend and enjoy a more low key night at the movies. Because it was my pick this time, I decided that we would see Tangled, Disney‘s 50th animated film:
I have been hearing from a few Pink readers that Tangled is a great film so I was very excited to see it for myself. I am very happy to report that I agree with those Pink readers … Tangled is a magical, fun and very worthy addition to the Disney library of fairy tale films. Those of you who have read the original Grimm version of Rapunzel know that the story is only 2 pages long. This new Disney version takes great license with the story and manages to turn the tale of Rapunzel into a smart, action-packed adventure (they did a *great* job explaining Rapunzel‘s long hair). The only thing that I wasn’t totally in love with was the music. Alan Menken, the composer of The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin and more, was told by Disney NOT to create his usual big songs for Tangled … instead, he was told to come up with more pop-sounding songs. They’re good but not great. That being said, the rest of the film is just really sweet. Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi do a great job voicing Rapunzel and Flynn but Donna Murphy as the villainous Mother Gothel really steals the show. We saw the film in 3D and really enjoyed it. The lantern scene is just so cool in 3D. I understand Tangled looks just as great in 2D so, the choice is yours. I’m still very bummed that Disney is no longer planning on making any more fairy tale films after Tangled … I guess we can only hope that the success of Tangled will change their minds. If you are looking for a fun, magical film to see this holiday season … Tangled is for you.
Tonight, David and I have been invited to attend a holiday party so I think that’s what we’re gonna do. I’m feeling a lot better today so hopefully I managed to fight off the cold that’s been threatening to take hold over the past few days. Have a great Tuesday, y’all!!

Jim likes Ewan's kisses, Cassidy pleads Not Guilty, Greedo's little secret
After learning earlier in the year that 90210 would be introducing a gay storyline on the show, we learned back in August that actor Trevor Donovan (Teddy) would be the character gifted with the gay storyline. Actor/singer Kyle Riabko (Ian) was added to the cast as Teddy‘s love interest but, as those of you who have been watching the show all season know, Teddy‘s coming out has been a very long, very slow process. Last night, finally, Teddy came to his senses and realized that he has feelings for Ian … and the two shared their first kiss together:
Finally! After spending the last three months slow-burning the “Teddy likes boys” storyline, we finally got the goods on 90210. And it was kind of hot, right? And, better yet, the big moment wasn’t hyped to death, so we also got a bit of a surprise when Teddy grabbed Ian — the classmate he hooked-up with (off-screen) during a blackout at the start of the season — and planted a big ol’ sloppy on the kid while they were cleaning up after a West Bev luau. How’s that for putting the “man” in manual labor? The build-up, of course, has been the fun of Season 3 … Proving to be more than a human Ken doll, Trevor Donovan’s doing a solid job playing golden-boy Teddy’s confusion, denial and fear. Not that he should be too worried about his friends’ reactions. Ade was gay for a hot minute last season and this isn’t 1950. Or the military. Anyway, it looks like blondie’s gonna have to deal with all of that sooner rather than later now that he’s gone and cracked the lock on his closet door. Those kinds of secrets tend to come out faster than, well, Teddy has, around these parts. Plus, February sweeps is just around the bend. So really, the only question is who might have a problem with Teddy’s true identity? Liam could use a better plot. Or maybe we’ll see the ugly side of some of the grownups.
For the most part, I’ve been very happy with the way 90210 has handled Teddy‘s coming out story. I’ve been watching all season long and while his coming out has taken some time, I honestly feel the show is trying to give the viewer a realistic view of someone coming to terms with their homosexuality. No one ever just comes out as gay overnight. The feelings that come along with the realization and acceptance of one’s sexuality can be a very long, confusing and sometimes painful process. For some, it can take years to come out as gay … for others, it can take a lifetime. 90210 has done a great job with Teddy‘s storyline thus far, I am really looking forward to seeing how it continues to play out. So … in case you missed it or just want to see it in action again, you can check out Teddy and Ian‘s first kiss, after the jump … More »
James Franco, who currently stars in the new film 127 Hours and will be hosting the 83rd Academy Awards with Anne Hathaway next February, is featured on the cover and in the pages of the new outdoorsy magazine Outside. Here is our first look at James‘s latest magazine cover:
As you may recall, James also graces the cover of the Fall issue of Candy magazine (in full drag) as well as his very own issue of GQ magazine this month as one of the mag’s Men of the Year … so Mr. Franco is having a very good month at the newsstand. Hugh Jackman and his adorable daughter Ava Eliot spent some time this weekend bonding with the newest member of the Jackman family. Hugh picked out a new pet pooch for his family, a doggie named Dalí … here are a few photos of Dalí Jackman getting acquainted with his new owners:
As if the Jackman family couldn’t get any cuter, they have to go and get a pet pooch that is JUST as cute! Also, I must say, I am really loving the new beard thing that Hugh has got going on. Mr. Manly looks even manlier with a full face of fur. Woot!! Something tells me that Dalí is going to really enjoy being a part of the Jackman family. Dalí fits in perfectly, don’t you think?
