Word starting going around this week that our dear Jake Gyllenhaal was spotted in the close company of singer Taylor Swift over the weekend (on an apple picking excursion … gag!) and rumor started going around that the pair were the hot new couple. I did my best to compose myself after hearing this news and immediately dismissed it as drivel … after all, unless the pair were actually photographed together, what is there to worry about. Well, the time to worry is now upon us … cuz photos of Jake and Taylor TOGETHER this weekend in Brooklyn, NY have come to light:
Saturday Night Live wasn’t Taylor Swift and Jake Gyllenhaal’s first outing together this past weekend. The two were spotted Saturday at the Fishkill Farms in Hopewell Junction, N.Y, where they toured fall foliage and went apple-picking, reports the new Us Weekly. “They were walking through the trees, having fun together,” says a local. “They looked happy.” Adds the witness, “Some of the customers tried to take a photo of them, but they were hiding from them in the trees. They drove through the orchard and bought the apples on the way out.” (Gyllenhaal, 29, paid the $3 tab.) It was just the first stop of a romantic Big Apple weekend, which included a trip to a SNL taping and Sunday brunch in Brooklyn’s Park Slope neighborhood, as UsMagazine.com reported Monday. Says a source, “The relationship is very new, maybe two or three weeks old. I’m not sure who pursued whom — but they’re both into it.”
Can somebody please kill me … like, NOW. Even tho you can’t see their faces, you can absolutely tell that it’s Jake and Taylor in these photos. I mean … just when you thought that Jake’s relationship with Reese Witherspoon was bad … the notion that he is now with Taylor Swift is … UGH! Let’s just hope they’re just friends. I told myself I couldn’t freak out until I saw photos of the pair together … so, I’m officially in freak out mode. They’re just friends, RIGHT?!?
Wow. For all the claims that Taylor is immature, every single one of you (Trent included) are acting about as mature as a 13 year old.
Love them or hate them, either one, who are you to put down something that makes them happy? I’m not saying they are couple or that if they are, they will last forever, but damn get the hell over yourselves.
Their relationship in any capacity does not effect your life so why the outrage?

Yes, Trent, I know that you are. There are very few things I’ve ever read from you that speaks of true outrage… As for the others, it’s honestly hard to tell by some of the comments. I don’t read the comment section of your posts to determine who’s really cray-cray and who isn’t. You of all people should know that there’s a fine line between simply being a fan and having a false sense of ownership over a celebrity.

Publicity stunt to sell her CD. She is fake like the rest of the Hollywood stars without talent. Too bad she didn’t rely on the CD itself instead of a cheap Hollywood trick.

I guess neither of them realize that there ARE other people in the world who are not celebrities. It seems they only date celebrities. Jake, there are plenty of gorgeous women (and men) for you to date who aren’t famous. Taylor, you might have better luck in love if you dated a regular guy.

I am genuinely outraged. It’s not fair. I weathered the Dunst era, the Witherspoon time and not I have to endure the Swift? To quote her annoying song, “What you doing with a girl like that?”

This is just so weird. They seem like they’re at such different points in their careers…taylor’s all new and virgin-y, dating someone in a brothers trio, then someone who acts the wolf in the latest teen drama, then suddenly she starts dating the uber sexy, grizzled, recent car mechanic? No, no, no. They must just be friends. Besides, in the photos, Jake is so obviously NOT holding her hand. Fear not, sweet Trent! You still have a chance ;)
Whoops, nevermind about the whole mechanic thing…I’m mixing him up with someone else sexy…maybe he’s less grizzled than I thought.
People should chill a tad… if Jake likes Taylor and Taylor likes Jake then there’s no problem here. Who cares about details like age difference if two people feel good around each other. If any of you so-called fans really cared about your idol you’d be happy for him. Besides… they’re both young and want to have fun. ;)

I think they are adorable together. They both have kind of the same funny personalities. I watched a few of Jake’s interviews on youtube and he and Taylor are very similar. I can totally see this happening.
