Yesterday evening David and I made our way to Las Vegas, NV to meet up with his parents and siblings for a fun birthday weekend celebration here for David’s dad’s birthday! Because David’s dad is a huge Elvis Presley fan, we thought it would be fun to have the family assemble here in Vegas at the new CityCenter complex on the LV Strip, the vibrant new entertainment center of Las Vegas and the home of the fabulous new Cirque du Soleil show Viva Elvis:

We are staying at the amazingly swank Vdara Hotel & Spa and are LOVING every single second of it. The place is totally state of the art and the amenities are just amazing:

We were all a bit tired upon arrival so after we settled in, we stepped out for a delicious extended Thai dinner at Lemongrass inside CityCenter before calling it a night.

Tonight, we will be seeing Viva Elvis and then will be dining at Sage. The best part of this entire trip is that we don’t even have to leave CityCenter at all. I’m not the biggest fan of Las Vegas but the amenities here make that fact a non-issue … we have having a blast! Happy Weekend!!
