A year ago this week we learned the terrible news that Jessica Simpson‘s beloved dog Daisy Mae got snatched away by coyotes right in front of her face. For a few days, Jessica futilely hoped that her tiny dog would be able to fend off a pack of coyotes and spent some time and energy to search for her pet pooch … but she eventually gave up and realized that Daisy Mae was gone. Yesterday, Jessica posted a tribute message for her beloved pet on her official Twitter profile:

Just a few days ago Jessica shared a cute and very happy photo with her new man Eric Johnson but yesterday Jess paused to remember the dog she lost a year ago. Now, I’m not a dog owner but I can appreciate Jessica‘s sentiment that if you do have a dog, you should give it extra love because you never know what tragedy might befall at any given time:

Let’s pour one out for Daisy Mae … and let’s Never Forget.

Aww.. I can totally understand this. Sometimes losing a pet – especially in a crazy, unexpected or violent way, can really stick with you – for quite a while. I can’t imagine how awful that must’ve felt for her.
This is still so heartbreaking. When a pet dies it is hard. But to lose a pet like that and not really know what happened is unimaginable. Having to find closure in a situation like that has got to be extremely difficult.
im not going to lie – i shed a tear or two when that all happened. i cant imagine losing my little pup, much less in the way jessica lost daisy. it was just so sad :(
will give my dog lots of extra cuddles today!
