Earlier this week we got our first look at popstar turned actress Rihanna on the Hawaii set of the new film Battleship (based on the classic Milton Bradley board game of the same name) and today we get to see a new photo of Ri Ri on set. In this photo, Rihanna shows us that she really knows how to act like a salty sailor … behold:

I now have new hope in Rihanna‘s acting abilities. She sure looks like a real sailor to me in this photo. I shall worry no more about Rihanna: the actress.

Earlier this week we learned that Iraq war veteran Jeff Miranda proposed marriage to Nicole Snooki Polizzi on the cover of the new issue of Steppin’ Out magazine. Today we learn that Snooki has turned down Miranda‘s proposal … and that Miranda doesn’t seem to want to take no for an answer:

Nothing can stop true love, and in the case of Jeff Miranda, he is not going to let a simple Tweet get in his way. Snooki’s boyfriend is now claiming that he’s being blocked from seeing his true love, and RadarOnline.com has all the exclusive details. Miranda proposed to Snooki on the cover of Steppin’ Out magazine, which was reported exclusively on RadarOnline.com on Monday. But the pint-sized Jersey Shore star turned him down via Twitter, and now Miranda claims the producers of the show are warning him to stop trying to contact Snooki. RadarOnline.com has learned exclusively that Miranda told Chaunce Hayden from Steppin’ Out magazine, “Ever since I’ve made it public that I want to marry Nicole, MTV’s lawyers have been calling and yelling at me to shut up. They keep threatening me with lawsuits if I don’t stop talking about her.” Jeff claims that he tried to visit Snooki at the Jersey Shore house on August 24, but the police guarding the set told him he had to leave and that he wasn’t welcome. “I’m not going to let 495 Productions keep us apart,” he said. “They don’t want us to be a couple, and they’re doing whatever they have to do to destroy our relationship. They stand to lose too much money if we’re together. They need Nicole to be single, and they’re going to see to it that she stays single.” He also denies that it was Snooki sending the Tweet herself due to strict filming rules. “I know that wasn’t Nicole who tweeted she wants to stay single. First of all, they don’t allow them to use cell phones or computers in the house.” Jeff claims that Snooki is in love with him. “She told me the last time we were together in private when the cameras weren’t on us that she wants to be with me and would give up the show for me.” Comparing his relationship with Snooki to Shakespeare, Jeff said, “it’s like Romeo and Juliet against the big corporate machines. But she knows I love her and I know she cares about me. “The truth is I love her and I want to be with her.” 495 Productions did not return requests for comment.

Erm, either this guy is a psycho stalker OR he’s just a moron looking for his own 15 minutes of fame … in either case, he sounds like the PERFECT guy for Snooki. HMMM … I just don’t understand why she would ever say no to a guy like this.

Filming continues this week on the London, England set of the new film W.E. which is being directed by Madonna … and today we learn of a bit of inspired casting for the film. It turns out that director Madonna‘s daughter Lourdes Maria has been cast in the film … which is being directed by Madonna. Get that? Director Madonna has cast her own inexperienced daughter in a major motion picture because, well, she’s the director? Here are a couple photos of mother and daughter on the set of W.E. working together:

She’s already followed in her mother’s footsteps with religion, fashion and music – now Madonna’s daughter Lourdes is following her onto the big screen too. The 13-year-old – billed as Lola Leon in the film credits – was spotted on the set of her mother’s movie W.E. wearing a school uniform ready for her movie debut. It’s not known yet exactly what part she’s playing and how big her role will be. Before she changed into her costume, Lourdes – known as Lola – had joined her mother on the shoot with brothers Rocco and David to see what progress was being made yesterday. Madonna was shooting in Mayfair yesterday outside hotel Claridges, as well as outside a makeshift Downing Street located in Aldwych. W.E., her second film as a director, tells the story of Edward VIII’s relationship with Wallis Simpson. The £18million film, currently being shot in Britain and France and due for release next year, intersperses Edward’s affair with the American divorcee with a love story set in 1998.

Now, lest you think that Lourdes … excuse me, Lola Leon … is without acting experience let me remind you that the little one has already appeared in the music video for Celebration … er, which was released by her mother. HMMM … I think I’m starting to see a pattern developing here. Still, everyone has to start somewhere … and in showbiz, it really is all about who you know. Might this be the start of a stunning acting career for Lola Leon? We shall see …

Fashionista and stylish mommy Nicole Richie is featured on the cover and in the pages of the new issue of British In Style magazine …. and she is lookin’ good, y’all. Here is our first look at her In Style coverphoto and some excerpts from her coverstory interview:

With her slim figure, ultra stylish outfits and chic hairstyle, Nicole Richie has always been a fashion icon. And as these new set of stunning shots show, the diminutive Simple Life star is still very much living up to her reputation as she poses in a series of lace dresses, leather trousers and high heeled strappy shoes. But despite her glossy image, the 28-year-old seems to be becoming a bit of a domestic goddess these days. In the accompanying interview for In Style magazine, Nicole discusses how she makes ‘home-cooked and very, very healthy’ food for her fiancé Joel Madden and two children – two-year-old Harlow, and Sparrow, one, which she says is ‘made with love.’ ‘I don’t have a hat and apron, but I entertain at home a lot,’ she reveals. ‘I love cooking for other people. My house is pretty eclectic. I think it represents me well. It’s fun and comfortable at the same time and it’s a place where a lot of people like to be. It has a lot of people in and out all the time.’ And Harlow already seems to be taking after her mother, who has her own jewellery range House of Harlow and clothing line Winter Kate. ‘[Harlow] picks her own clothes. It’s a 20-minute thing – it begins at 7.30 each morning – but it is what it is and it’s fine,’ she says. Despite her preened look in these photos, Nicole – who changed her hair style from long and brown to blonde and bobbed his week – claims her fashion instinct comes naturally. ‘I don’t think it’s as prepared as you’d think,’ she says. ‘I just grab whatever’s around and put it on. I’m pretty much a jeans and T-shirt type of girl and then I go from there. I collect a lot of vintage kimonos and vintage bed jackets. I’ll throw those on, and a lot of the time it will appear that I’m wearing a completely different outfit, but I’m not.’

On Wednesday we learned that roving actor/rockstar Jared Leto had returned to NYC … which means, of course, that he had to swing by the studio of his photographer BFF Terry Richardson. As you may recall, back in February Jared got shaved then photographed by Terry … so now that Jared is back in NYC, it was time for a new series of photos:

Last night Detroit, MI played host to one of the biggest hip hop concerts that ever was as hometown boy Eminem and NYC’s Jay-Z played the first of their Home and Home Tour shows at Comerica Park (home of the Detroit Tigers baseball team) in downtown Detroit:

While we have been enjoying the semi-daily photos of Britney Spears and beau Jason Trawick on vacation in Hawaii, there are some folks out there who are not at all happy that Britney is in Hawaii … particularly the folks who are also staying at the luxury resort hotel where Britwick have been staying. Apparently, Britney‘s fellow vacationers have been none too pleased with Britney‘s security detail. But, despite the anger, even her detractors have to admit … Britney looks amazing. Read on to find out what kind of trubs Britney and her security guards have been causing by the pool:

Sure, Britney Spears has been looking über-sexy strutting her bikinied booty around Hawaii with her abtastic bf, but while the pop star may be all smiles, her ‘tude is leaving some fellow vacationers a bit P.O’ed. Oops! She did it again… Another guest of the Grand Wailea in Maui was tres surprised to spot Miss Spears a few cabanas over at the swanky hotel. We’re told Britster could have flown under the radar were it not for her “four huge security dudes that escorted her everywhere.” Oh, and just incase that weren’t enough, the hotel kindly blocked off all surrounding cabanas to guarantee B.S. her privacy. Problem is, when Brit doesn’t want to be bothered she really doesn’t want to be bothered. While the adult pool was teeming with folks sun tanning and sipping on exotic drinks, Brit & Co. decided to set up camp in the kids pool—despite the fact that Brit left her little ones back on the mainland. And Team Spears wasn’t in the mood to put up with anyone else’s kids, for that matter. Our Wailea mommy was furious when Britney’s security interfered with her kids who were playing poolside near B. “She was a bitch,” our Hawaii Five-0 dishes about her encounter with the blonde babe. “Looked good though.” That’s not to say she’s completely forgiven, just because she can pull off a two-piece: “If you she came to the busiest resort in Maui, clearly she wants to be seen. Her goons should back off—or she should stay at the adult pool.”

I mean … yeah, I love Britney but if I were treated this way by her security guys while on vacay, I’d be pissed too. David and I stayed at the Grand Wailea when we were in Maui, HI early last month and I can attest to the luxury of the adult pool on the premises. Britney and co. could just relax there and never be bothered by kids at all … they are not allowed to be in or near that pool. Still, if Britney has to be a “bitch” at least she’s doing so while looking as hot as possible.

Chris Evans, who will bring the iconic comic book character Captain America to life on the big screen in the 2011 film Captain America: The First Avenger, sat down to talk with Elle.com about this new role in addition to other fun topics … like acting camp. Surprisingly, Chris confesses that he didn’t “grow up reading comic books” (which is surprising considering how many comic book movies he’s been cast in) so he doesn’t really have that background to go from for his new film … but, the fact that he spent a few Summers at acting camp when he was a kid should alleviate fears that he won’t have the acting chops to pull off the role. Lindsay Lohan spent another late night out on the town last night, which continues to trouble me, but this time decided to leave the driving to someone else … which seems very encouraging to me. L. Lo decided to hide herself from view by putting her hand over her eyes and, wouldn’t you know it, she completely disappeared:

It is really amazing how the Peek-A-Boo tactic still manages to make people disappear from sight by just covering one’s eyes. While I still don’t think it’s a good idea for L. Lo to be running around all over town at all hours of the night, I think it behooves her greatly to leave the driving to someone else. Perhaps she is finally learning safe partying tips? Baby steps, y’all … baby steps.
