Last month we got our first look at a special one-off comic book based on the now defunct Joss Whedon TV series Dollhouse … today we learn that the comic has been officially confirmed for a full on comic book series!

The Riley Finn issue of Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season 8 features a letter from the editor that not only confirms that the Dollhouse comic book series will go into production but that the Angel comic book series will be published by Dark Horse comics starting in 2011:

Just like the one-off Dollhouse comic that will be packaged with the Dollhouse Season 2 DVD package, the full comic book series based on the show will be written by Jed Whedon and Maurissa Tancharoen (among others) … which means that the series is in very good hands. I am very much looking forward to adding the Dollhouse comics to my already growing collection of Buffy and Angel comics.
