Last night at the Nokia Theater in downtown Los Angeles, CA the 62nd annual Primetime Emmy Awards were handed out on LIVE TV in a telecast that offered some entertainment, lots of surprises and a bit of disappointment. Here are a few photos of some of the attendees of last night’s Emmy Awards as they made their grand arrivals on the red carpet:

As for the show itself, well, overall I was a bit underwhelmed by what we were given. I thought Jimmy Fallon did a fairly good job as host but much of the show was tedious and annoying. The announcer who wouldn’t shut up as the night progressed really got on my nerves. They need to get rid of him, like, seriously. I really enjoyed Jimmy‘s musical interludes and I really enjoyed the show’s Glee-themed opening number. In case you missed it or just want to watch it again, you can do so after the jump …

In celebration of the late Michael Jackson‘s birthday yesterday, Spike Lee organized the second annual Brooklyn Loves Michael Jackson concert celebration at Prospect Park in Brooklyn, NYC. Rappers Snoop Dogg and Warren G were among the performers at yesterday’s fete … here are a few photos from the 2nd annual event:

The good news is that Spike’s Lee’s MJ tribute, “Brooklyn Loves Michael Jackson” is going down again this Sunday. The even better news is that Spike called it the “2nd annual” event, meaning we can mostly likely expect the Kings County tribute to the King of Pop year after year. Last years event at Prospect Park’s Nethermead was a little bit of shangri-la: people danced the day away as DJ Spinna pulled together a block-rocking tribute that kept tens of thousands of New Yorkers moving and grooving. MJ impersonators were in abundance as a New Yorkers of every age and stripe came together in celebration of what would have been Michael’s 52nd birthday. It was a day you wouldn’t want to miss and it should be off the wall again this Sunday. “Tell your friends, tell everybody,” Spike said in a video announcement. “You don’t have to be from Brooklyn. You don’t even have to be from New York. People are going to be coming from all over the world.”

To be honest, I didn’t hear about very many birthday celebrations for the late King of Pop so I’m glad to know that Lee plans on making the Brooklyn Loves Michael Jackson celebration a yearly event. Aussie pop queen Kylie Minogue and US piano queen Rufus Wainwright performed together in NY this weekend at a benefit concert at the Hamptons Watermill Center. Kylie and Rufus dueted on a string of hit songs together, including Kylie‘s mega-hit songs The Locomotion, Can’t Get You Out Of My Head and her new single All The Lovers. Here are a few photos of Kylie and Rufus on stage together and some deets from the benefit concert:

Kylie Minogue took to the stage with singer Rufus Wainwright for an unusual performance at a charity event in New York on Saturday night. The pop star sang at the benefit show at the Hamptons Watermill Center and thrilled the star-studded audience, including Mark Ronson and Anjelica Huston, by duetting on a variety of her hits including Can’t Get You Out of My Head. The pair also performed If I Loved You from musical Carousel, before Wainwright closed the show with an emotional rendition of Over the Rainbow, which he dedicated to his late mother, folk singer Kate McGarrigle, according to New York Post gossip column Page Six.

As amazing as these photos are … it’s the performances that you really have to see to appreciate the awesomeness of this pairing. It’s been a couple of months since we last checked in with Buffyverse family Alyson Hannigan, Alexis Denisof and their beautiful babygirl Satyana but the fam ventured out here in SoCal this weekend to do a bit of shopping at the Brentwood Country Mart. As you can see in these adorable photos, Aly was heapin’ all kinds of love on her growing little girl Saty:

I cannot even believe how big Satyana is already … even if you compare these photos to the ones we saw in June she looks bigger. I love the little pigtails … she is an utter doll. I just love this family so much … I can’t wait to see the next batch of family photos :)

And so … now we know what Paris Hilton‘s defense is in the on-going legal woes she is enduring after getting arrested in Las Vegas, NV on Friday night on cocaine possession charges. As you may recall, Paris invoked her classic “It wasn’t mine” defense when she was arrested … today we learn the specifics … Paris maintains that the cocaine “probably” belongs to her girlfriend who “borrowed” her purse earlier in the night. Well of course, THAT makes sense. But lest you think Paris is sweatin’ this small cocaine thing … worry not! Paris spent a luxurious Saturday getting pampered at Michael Boychuck‘s COLOR Salon At Caesars Palace mere hours after she was released from police custody after her arrest:

Paris Hilton is telling her friends the cocaine Las Vegas cops found in her purse was not hers — it was probably her girlfriend’s. Paris’ close friends are telling TMZ … Hilton now says one of her friends recently borrowed the purse in question and “probably” put cocaine inside. Paris says she got the bag back but never checked the contents. It’s slightly different from the “It’s-not-my-purse” defense, but it’s the same theme. Paris is telling friends, “I had no idea the cocaine was there. I swear on my life.” According to Hilton, she was eating sushi at the Wynn hotel with boyfriend Cy Waits, sipping a little wine. Paris says she was tired and Cy offered to drive her home and then return to the hotel to work. Paris is telling friends, “It could be a setup. Everyone knows how against cocaine I am.” And there’s this … Paris is saying she believes the cops who stopped the car were “star-struck and blew the whole thing way out of proportion.”

LMAOOOOOOOOOOOO!! But of COURSE we ALL know how “against cocaine” Paris Hilton is. OMG … LOL. But the funniest saddest part of all of this bullshizz is that Paris is likely to get away by using this defense. UGH. Paris also wants YOU know know how much she appreciates your love and support for her during this very difficult time for her … she even said so on her official Twitter profile. It would seem that Lindsay Lohan just cannot learn her lesson … the girl ended up getting busted by the cops AGAIN over the weekend, just days after she was released from custody over a previous traffic violation where she was convicted of drunk driving. Fortunately for L. Lo, she totally avoided punishment for this latest infraction … Lindsay, who was in a desperate rush to get to the Chateau Marmont, decided to drive her new Maserati thru a Stop sign without actually stopping, which of course got her pulled over by the police:

Lindsay Lohan was back in fine form last night, having a run-in with the West Hollywood police after blowing through a stop sign. Linds was desperate to get to the Chateau Marmont asap in her $150,000 Maserati GranTurismo 433 hp car and she neglected to stop at a stop sign — unfortunately for her, a cop was nearby and caught her. But guess what? He let her off! Finally someone has sympathy on poor Lindsay. She continued on her way to the Chateau with her friends and left around 1 am.

See, this is what I don’t understand … how is it that the California Department of Motor Vehicles thinks it’s a good idea for ANYONE for Lindsay Lohan to have her driver’s license. Let’s forget for a second the fact that she tends to get pulled over for these sort of traffic violations on a regular basis (and, amazingly, tends to get off Scott free) but let’s, instead, focus on the fact that she *just* got out of jail and rehab due to a major traffic violation (a little thing known as drunk driving). Wouldn’t it make sense to deny her a license for a year or so in addition to her other punishments which, you may recall, were not enforced fully anyway? It’s a joke the way celebs are treated when it comes to crimes like this. A total joke. This will not be the last time Lindsay will get busted while behind the wheel of a motor vehicle … mark my words.

While Britney Spears was bizzy being happy and in love in Hawaii with her hot elder beau Jason Trawick this weekend, her promo team was bizzy being hard at work for the living legend here in SoCal behind the scenes. Yesterday the first promo video commercial for Britney‘s latest fragrance called Radiance was unleashed upon the Internets … here are a few screencaps:

Yesterday afternoon a wedding took place on the island of Maui, HI and Britney Spears and Jason Trawick were involved … as spectators. As you may know, Britwick are currently enjoying a romantic Hawaiian holiday together and yesterday bore witness to a wedding ceremony that took place at their hotel resort. You may recall that I mentioned that David and I stayed at that same resort earlier this month and I mentioned how there is a beautiful wedding chapel situated at the center of the hotel grounds. We had a view of the chapel from our hotel room lanai … as, apparently, do Britney and Jason:

Now, just because Britwick bore witness to this wedding does NOT mean that they got any crazy ideas to tie the knot themselves … tho, I suppose that is entirely possible. To be honest, I would love it if Britney and Jason said their I Dos on the beautiful island of Maui … but I’m guessing that as in love as they are, they’re not quite ready to get hitched.

Let’s send our warmest congrats to the happy couple who got hitched in Hawaii yesterday with Britney Spears and Jason Trawick overseeing their nuptials:

Kylie Minogue, who just performed here in the US on America’s Got Talent this past Wednesday night, will be hittin’ the road next year with a new tour she is calling Les Folies Tour 2011. Kylie fans here in the US have much to be excited about … because Kylie has promised that she will tour the US once again next year! Kylie gave a quick interview to Access Hollywood backstage on America’s Got Talent last week and spilled that she is planning to bring her tour back here to the US in 2011:

The Aussie pop diva will return to the U.S. to tour in 2011, she tells Access Hollywood exclusively. “I’m coming back,” Kylie told Access on Wednesday, at a rehearsal for her “America’s Got Talent” performance. “Next year, 2011.” Kylie, who toured the U.S. for the first time ever in her over-20-year career in Fall 2009, said American fans are “unbelievable.” “Touring here was one of the best decisions,” she said. “There was so much love in the room – the fans were amazing.”

SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!! This is such exciting news!! I had an absolute BLAST seeing Kylie Minogue in concert here in the US last year … I am beyond thrilled that she is not only planning to tour again but that she is planning to bring that tour here to the US as well. It has been such a treat to be able to see Kylie on tour internationally but I’m even more excited that she is bringing her tour back here to the US, making it so much easier to see her multiple times on tour. 2011 is going to be a fantastic year for concerts, I can feel it. Now that we know that Kylie will be hittin’ the road here in North America again we can ready ourselves for the fun times ahead. The only problem is … how many shows will I need to see?
