Yesterday afternoon we got to see a couple photos of Mariah Carey performing on stage in São Paulo, Brazil over the weekend and, in all honesty, Mimi was lookin’ a big bigger than usual. Naturally, the rumors began to swirl that she is trying to hide a pregnancy but based on the photos I saw and posted, I was not convinced of any such pregsness. Pink reader Rory and others pointed me in the direction of other photos of Mariah Carey on stage in Brazil that appear to show her with a baby bump … while others do not. Here are a couple of side-by-side concert photos that make the case FOR and AGAINST the Mimi pregnancy rumor:
HMMM … it’s hard to be sure about what we are seeing here. Very clearly, it looks like she has a baby bump in a couple of the photos and also very clearly, it appears she has a very flat stomach in the other two photos. Have the photos been doctored? Is she really good at hiding her bump? I was pretty sure that I did not believe the pregnancy rumors before now but I’m not sure anymore. If Mariah is pregs, we’ll find out very soon … she can’t hide a bump (if there is one) for much longer. Blah … I’m so confused. What do y’all think … is she pregs or not?

If she is not pregs then people should cut a bitch some slack. So she gained a few. Big whoop.
I think it is disrespectful that people keep on reporting this. Leave the poor woman alone. if she has gained a bit of weight so what – she is healthy.
@michelle — If we left “the poor woman alone” she wouldn’t be a multi-millionaire celebrity. Trust me, she does not want us to “leave her alone”.
I think she is. She’s never let herself get quite this big before. Also, it’s hard to tell from the pictures, but it looks like she might be carrying the weight in her face and midsection – legs and arms look fine. I always know when I’m pregnant, because I get the fat face real quick.

A plump face is a good sign of pregnancy.
I thought I heard somewhere that she thanked her fans at this show because “for personal reasons” that performance was kind of difficult for her. And aren’t her and Nick in and out of fertility clinics. Maybe they don’t want to say anything because they are having trouble. It’s terrible sad to think, but if I were her I wouldn’t want that out there for everyone to discuss.

I don’t know. Even her legs and arms look fat, so I’m leaning in the direction of weight gain.
To tag on to April — some hormone treatments when you’re trying to get pregnant make you gain weight. whatever the cause, glad to see her around and about, and happy!
The arm and weight gain can be related to pregnancy too. In my first two months I gain weight there, and I am looking really plump, but still gaining in the healthy range. She may just be carrying all over. I hope she is pregnant, that would be awesome for them!

I don’t know about the facial weight gain as a sign of pregnancy. Every time I gain a few pounds, it shows in my face first!

Personally, I don’t like baby bump watches. We don’t know what she is going through, and trying to pry into that personal of an issue is just wrong, IMO. I don’t think people intend to be cruel when they do that…but you could just be stabbing a knife into a wound that you don’t know is there.
She could be on fertility treatments trying to get pregnant (that can make you gain serious weight). She could be pregnant, and waiting to make the announcement until she is beyond the VERY precarious 1st trimester. She could have BEEN pregnant, and suffered miscarriages, and what you see is the body dealing with that.
The bottom line is we don’t know, and since none of us are close to her, we shouldn’t expect to know!!! Post about her performances, her fashion choices, etc. …but leave the pregnancy speculation out of it. She might be a star, but she is a HUMAN BEING first and foremost.
