Yesterday we learned that Lindsay Lohan, in a last ditch effort to try and avoid jail by making it look like she is trying to do the right thing, secretly checked herself into a sober living rehab facility called Pickford Lofts (which was founded by Lindsay‘s new lawyer [and OJ Simpson's former lawyer] Robert Shapiro). Today we get to see the first photos of Lindsay “rehabbing” at Pickford Lofts … where, apparently, she can come and go as she pleases … AND can enjoy the company of any visitors (like her enabling mother Dina Lohan) that she likes:
As you may recall, yesterday we saw photos of family (Dina and little sister Aliana Ali Lohan) and friends (Samantha Ronson and Eilat Anschel) paying late night visits to Lindsay in her temporary new abode … cuz, again apparently, Pickford Lofts is the place to socialize and hang out with folks while one attempts to “clean up” their act. Yeah, no … I find if very hard to believe that Judge Marsha Revel will see this sober living house as an adequate replacement for a jail cell. I just don’t believe Judge Revel will rescind her original 90 day jail sentence to allow Lindsay to serve out the time in this unrestricted pleasure palace rehab facility. I KNOW that District Attorney Danette Meyers is going to argue vehemently for Lindsay to be locked up on July 20. Again, I think it was a brilliant move on Shapiro‘s part to make this last ditch effort to try and keep L. Lo out of jail but I don’t think it’s gonna work. In all honest, it SHOULD NOT work. Lindsay has been coddled for way too long. Jail managed to turn the lives of both Nicole Richie and Paris Hilton around … it seems to be the only way to make Hollywood “It” Girls learn the lessons that could save their lives. It’s very clear to me that Lindsay MUST learn those lessons.

Hmm, I don’t know if Nicole Richie really counts as having been “in jail.” If memory serves, didn’t she turn herself in and sit there for about an hour and a half and then get released? Granted, I can see where that would be enough of a close call for some people to clean up their acts, especially since Nicole was pregnant and hopefully starting to think about the ramifications of her actions on her unborn child… But I don’t think 84 minutes being processed in and out of jail would be enough for Lindsay to go straight. She needs the real thing.
@Z — Look, jail is jail … and the proof is in the pudding. Nicole’s life did a complete 180 after she got thrown in the slammer. She worked hard to attend all the driving safety classes ordered of her and has become one of the most responsible parents in Hollywood. Lindsay CAN turn her life around, if she really wants to. I agree, Lindsay needs to be jailed for more than just a day … Paris did 23 days, Lindsay should do even more.
nicole richie did NOT do time in jail. it’s not like she was thrown in gen pop for the measly 84 minutes she was there. hohan needs to do some hard time because she is one of the most self-entitled, self-absorbed, indulged brat.
Lindsay definitely needs to experience jail for at least a short time and hopefully be scared straight.
People don’t do “hard time” for being self-absorbed. But she does need to go to jail to pay for her DUI.
people do ‘hard time’ for breaking the law, not showing up for court, lying to the court, breaking the law – all of which hohan has done.
yeah, that’s not much of a rehab facility. Plus, until she’s ready to admit she has a problem- no facility will truly help.
Don’t forget about Robert Downey Jr. … it may have taken a few times … but it seems his life is back!
I agree about Nicole Richie. She had already turned her life around BEFORE she spent her hour and a half in jail!! I remember in her interview with Joel and Diane when she announced the pregnancy she was already a whole different person…

Trent, I love ya’ and I totally agree that Nicole Ritchie turned her life around and has become a model citizen and parent. But just because most of that happened after she did her 84 minutes in jail, doesn’t mean that was the turning point for her. Correlation does not equal causation! Ack, you’ve got me bringing out the grad school terminology! ;) Like Laure75 said, Nicole was already turning things around when she went to jail. But I think we’re all in agreement that Lindsay needs some serious jail time for her infractions. 84 minutes isn’t going to cut it for her. :p

I sincerely hope the judge will see through this attempt at avoiding jail time. Lindsay needs some tough love.
