Fantastic Four
‘Green Lantern’ Releases The First Movie Posters

Over the weekend we got to see actors Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively, Mark Strong and Peter Sarsgaard on stage at the Green Lantern discussion panel at 2010 San Diego Comic-Con. Today we get to see this fantastic four in a new set of movie promo posters that have just been released to promote Green Lantern. Here are the posters for the GL characters Hal Jordan/Green Lantern (Reynolds) and Carol Ferris (Lively):

Now, these posters are cool because they feature the superhero star and his feisty love interest girlfriend … but it’s the posters of the villains Sinestro (Strong) and Dr. Hector Hammond (Sarsgaard) that are even cooler! In May we got a tease at what Sarsgaard will look like in costume as Hector Hammond but this new batch of posters gives us our FIRST LOOK at what Strong will look like as the sinister supervillain Sinestro. Check out the posters for Sinestro and Hammond, after the jump …

Broadway Boy
Zac Efron Brings The Sexy To The City

Zac Efron, who is bizzy doing lots of promo work for his upcoming new film Charlie St. Cloud (due out in theaters here in the US this Friday), has made his way to NYC this week. Zac spent part of his weekend bouncing around town while taking in a couple of Broadway shows. First, Zac made his way to the Richard Rodgers Theatre to see In the Heights — which currently stars his High School Musical co-star Corbin Bleu — and then he made his way to the Shubert Theatre to see Memphis. Here are a few photos from Zac‘s Broadway-filled weekend:

It’s a shame that most Broadway theaters frown upon their guests going to shows shirtless cuz we’ve all seen what Mr. Efron‘s got goin’ on underneath his t-shirts and, well, the folks in NYC are really missing out ;) It occurs to me that since HSM‘s Corbin Bleu managed to snap himself a Broadway show, maybe Zac might be interested in doing a show of his own. I could see Zac Efron on Broadway, can’t you? Wouldn’t he be great in Equus, Hair or some other nekkid-specific show?

Plus, Lindsay should expect at least another week in jail
Dina & Ali Lohan Enjoy A Spa Day Then Visit Lindsay In Jail

E! News‘s Marc Malkin is reporting that Dina and Aliana Ali Lohan, mother and sister of the currently jailed Lindsay Lohan, spent part of their weekend relaxing at a day spa getting manicures and pedicures while Lindsay‘s lawyer Shawn Chapman Holley was bizzy trying to bust her client out of jail early. Because the Century Regional Detention Facility in Lynwood, CA, the jail housing L. Lo right now, would not allow Lindsay to receive any visitors over the weekend, Dina and Ali decided to hang out instead at a relaxing day spa. Dina and Ali did visit Lindsay in jail yesterday, after they were all pampered, rested and stuff:

Dina and Ali Lohan weren’t allowed to visit Lindsay this weekend in jail, so what’s a mom and daughter to do? Go to a spa! The duo was spotted on Saturday at L.A.’s Raya European Day Spa. No word if they indulged in mani-pedi’s, massages and/or facials, but whatever the two did, they did it gratis. No, the spa didn’t comp them. “Some random guy, a stranger, at the spa paid for them,” an eyewitness said. “He said it was because ‘You’ve been through so much.’”

They HAVE been through so much, haven’t they? The poor dears. But as I mentioned before, while the Lohans were getting pampered, Lindsay‘s lawyer was trying to finagle a way to get Lindsay out of jail over the weekend, or at least in the next few days. After the jump, find out just how successful Chapman Holley was in that endeavor …

The 'Tale as Old as Time' gets a modern upgrade
Disney’s ‘Beauty And The Beast’ Gets The 3D Treatment

In late 1991, Walt Disney Animation released their animated version of the classic French fairytale Beauty and the Beast. Having achieved surprising success with their previous release, the animated version of the Hans Christian Andersen tale The Little Mermaid, Disney hoped their Beauty would go on to enjoy even more success … and boy did it ever. Beauty and the Beast captured the hearts and minds of millions of people around the world and has the distinction to be the first animated film in history to be nominated for the Academy Award for Best Picture (in a time LONG before animated films were as treasured as they are now). Disney had planned to re-release Beauty and the Beast in a remastered 3D version here in US theaters earlier this year but has since decided to push back its release until 2011 … but the film, in all its new 3D glory will be released in New Zealand next month. Here is our first look at the movie trailer for the new 3D version of Disney‘s Beauty and the Beast:

Walt Disney Studios New Zealand has just released a teaser trailer for Beauty and the Beast in Disney Digital 3D. According to the trailer, it begins performing in the country August 12 in a very limited release. The 3D theatrical release of the film, which was originally slated for Valentine’s Day of 2010 in the United States, has been generating tremendous buzz to the point where it’s been suggested that The Lion King and other Disney animated classics may soon follow suit. It’s expected to open domestically in 2011, most likely during the Valentine’s Day timeframe, but no official date has yet been announced.

There was something about Beauty and the Beast that captured that Walt Disney magic in animation that had been lost for decades … The Little Mermaid had a bit of that magic but Beauty just soared into the stratosphere and reawakened our love for animated films in a way that has never died down since … and now this very special film is back! After the jump, check out the just-released movie trailer for the Beauty and the Beast 3D
