Robert Pattinson, who has temporarily relocated here in SoCal so that he can film his new movie Water for Elephants, was spotted out on a movie date with an older woman in Malibu, CA this weekend … and the older woman was his mother! Here are a couple of cute pics of R. Pattz and his mother Clare as they made their way out of an afternoon showing of Salt:

No matter how big a star you are, there is one person you should always make time for: Your mother. Robert Pattinson sticks to this rule, and spent some quality time with his mother Clare in Malibu. With girlfriend Kristen Stewart away preparing for her new film … Rob was in need of a date for a trip to the cinema. Dressed down denim in shorts and a grey jumper, his proud mother laughed as Rob was besieged by female fans as they left the cinema after watching Angelina Jolie’s new thriller Salt. The Twilight actor, in his trademark casual clothing and baseball cap, happily chatted to the fans. Ever the gentleman, Rob made sure his mother wasn’t overlooked, including her in the conversation.

Aww, you can tell that Roberto is a good boy. I’m sure his mother is really proud of him … and can I just say how much I love that Rob and his mom went on a movie date together. They both look so unassuming, which is really refreshing when you consider how rich he is. I hope he manages to keep it real for the rest of his career. What is it about British boys and manners? They really know how to raise ‘em right over in England, don’t they?

UPDATE: According to a few Pink readers, the woman in these photos with Rob is not his mother Clare but his manager Stephanie. It’s a shame because this story would be so much cuter if it really was his mum.

Yesterday was a gloriously boring day for me … I loved every second of it. I spent the day being as lazy as possible before I made my way down to Manhattan Beach to chill for a bit with my friends Emma and Josh. I brought back some souvenirs from Paris, France so I wanted to get those delivered as soon as possible. We made our way to Pancho’s for a little snack and I happily kicked back a couple of Michelada drinks:

Josh actually introduced me to Micheladas and I know I am obsessed with drinking them … er, you know, in a healthy way not an alcoholic way. We hung out for a bit and then it was time for me to pick up my friend Tracey from the airport. She is staying with David and me for a few days and she arrived last night. We had some dinner and then just hung out here at home.

This afternoon, we’re going out for brunch and maybe a trip to The Grove. David returns home from his weekend on the East Coast tonight but I’m thinkin’ today is gonna be another nice and very chill day :D

Britney Spears and her loverman Jason Trawick made their way up to Santa Barbara, CA to spend a nice relaxing weekend together and yesterday they were spotted doing a bit of shopping with Jason‘s parents. The foursome were spotted making their way out of the back door of a Michael’s Arts and Crafts store with loaded down bags in hand:

It would seem that the torrid on-again-off-again-married-again-off-again-on-again relationship between fashion designer Marc Jacobs and his boyfriend/husband/whatever Lorenzo Martone is off again. As you may recall, Marc and Lorenzo got “married” (or whatever) in St. Bart’s back in January but there were rumors that the couple had split up going around back in April. In May we were assured that the couple were still together and that was the last we heard … until now. Lorenzo Martone has confirmed to the world on his official Twitter profile that he and Marc have, indeed, split up for good:

Apparently, Lorezno could not remain quiet any longer and finally responded to all the messages he’s been getting about his relationship with Marc. According to Martone, the couple have been dunzo for the past 2 months!

Now, 2 months ago was May … when we were “assured” that the couple were still together. I guess they really weren’t and were just trying to keep the news under wraps. Well, the secret’s out now … and it’s a damn shame. I really liked Marc and Lorenzo together but, alas, I suppose it wasn’t meant to be. I guess this may be the last time we ever hear from Lorenzo Martone again … which is another damn shame. Ah well … c’est la vie.

Earlier today we got to see the first photos of the principal cast of the Marvel Comics film The Avengers assembled together at 2010 San Diego Comic-Con yesterday afternoon and right now we get to see the principal cast of the DC Comics film Green Lantern also assembled at Comic-Con yesterday as well. As you should be well aware by now, Ryan Reynolds plays the lead hero Hal Jordan/Green Lantern alongside Blake Lively as Carol Ferris and villains Mark Strong as Sinestro and Peter Sarsgaard as Dr. Hector Hammond. Here is our first look at all of these actors together on stage at Comic-Con yesterday afternoon:

Ryan Reynolds says he took the title role in “Green Lantern” to play a hero that can “throw a punch, tell a joke and kiss a girl.” The actor, along with castmates Blake Lively, Peter Sarsgaard and Mark Strong and director Martin Campbell, presented a clip from the film at Comic-Con Saturday for some 6,000 ecstatic fans, many of whom camped out overnight for a chance to see the presentation. Campbell says the 3-D movie blends realistic action with humor and an otherworldly trip to the planet Oa, home of the Green Lanterns. He added that while the hero’s costume is “a work in progress,” his cinematic story is set: He is joined by his fellow Green Lanterns for a face-off against Parallax, whom Reynolds describes as “the physical manifestation of fear in our movie.” The clip showed Reynolds as Hal Jordan, who, after a fight with street thugs, takes the Green Lantern oath and uses his new powers to blow them away. Reynolds recited the oath for the Comic-Con crowd, which rewarded him with cheers. The cast seemed to embrace the Comic-Con energy, and revealed which characters they’d dress up with if they could walk the convention floor. Reynolds would go as a Wookie because he likes to “be cute and dangerous.” Lively would dress as Harry Potter and Sarsgaard would go as Captain America. Strong said he’d dress as his “Green Lantern” character, Sinestro. DC Comics chief Geoff Johns hinted that other Green Lantern films, and a Justice League movie, could follow: “The success of ‘Green Lantern’ will lead the charge for everything DC does.”

It’s really cool to see the principal castmembers all assembled together … I have high hopes that Green Lantern will be a big enough smash film that DC Comics will move forward with films based on their other iconic superheroes … like The Flash and Wonder Woman! If Green Lantern does well, I’m certain plans will move forward to make other DC superhero films leading up to an eventual Justice League film. I think they got the casting so right for Green Lantern, I can’t wait to see Mark Strong as Sinestro. I just want to see more, more, more … thankfully we only have to wait ’til next year to see Green Lantern on the big screen.

Those eagle-eyed folks at TMZ have sniffed out a bit of new information about Ms. Lindsay Lohan, the artist currently known as Inmate #2409752 cooling her heels inside Century Regional Detention Facility in Lynwood, CA … it turns out that homegirl got herself a new tattoo in the days before she surrendered herself to jail last week. As you may recall, we saw photos of Lindsay making her way into and out of the Shamrock Tattoo on the Sunset Strip in West Hollywood, CA late last month … but at the time, Lindsay denied that she had any tattoo work done. Either she was not being truthful or she was there merely for a consultation because TMZ reports that Lindsay did get a new tattoo started at Shamrock Tattoo but couldn’t get the work finished because, well, she had to go to jail. Here are photos from Lindsay‘s day in court last Tuesday in the moments before she was dragged away to jail … if you look closely, you can see Lindsay‘s secret tattoo:

TMZ has learned Lindsay Lohan started to get some ink done before she got locked up — but she didn’t have time to finish the design … because of that whole jail thing. At first glance, it appears to be a bruise on LiLo’s upper left arm — but the mark is actually the tattooed outline of a little girl with her eyes closed. We’re told Lohan first went under the needle at the Shamrock Social Club tattoo parlor in Hollywood just a few weeks ago — and ironically chose the image because “she liked the innocence of the girl.”

I KNEW she got a tattoo even tho she claimed not to. I had a feeling that L. Lo was gonna get a new tattoo before she went to jail and when she showed up at Shamrock Tattoo, I knew I was right. I love how her new ink was right out there for anyone to see … if only they could notice it.

In more Lindsay jail news, because an exception was made so that she could receive visitors during the week last week, the jailhouse authorities cut off her visitor privileges for the weekend. BUT, L. Lo did manage to get to see one visitor this weekend — find out who it was, after the jump …

On Friday we learned straight from the horse’s mouth the official confirmation that the amazing Joss Whedon would be directing the big screen adaptation of The Avengers. Today we get to see the full principal cast of the film assembled all together at a panel for the film yesterday at 2010 San Diego Comic-Con. Here is our first look at the assembled cast of The Avengers on stage together yesterday afternoon:

As footage rolled of the Avengers’ logo, a big “A,” we heard Samuel L. Jackson’s voice: “Super heroes came together,” he bellowed, “the day the Avengers were formed.” Then they came out one by one. Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury. Clark Gregg as Agent Coulson. Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow. Chris Hemsworth as Thor. Chris Evans as Captain America. Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man. Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye. Mark Ruffallo as The Hulk. Joss Whedon as The Director. Downey calls this film more ambitious than Inception. Joss Whedon had tears in his eyes. He said, “I had a dream all my life and it wasn’t this good.” And 6500 hundred people in Hall H screamed from the very depths of their multiverse-loving souls. The Avengers had assembled. And just like that they were gone. After seeing the footage of Captain America and Thor they had a job to do: to prepare to shoot the greatest comic book movie in the history of time.

You will note that Mark Ruffalo is included in the cast as Bruce Banner/The Hulk, just like we heard he would be. Also included in this photo is Clark Gregg (sandwiched between Robert Downey, Jr. and Scarlett Johansson) who will play Agent Coulson (just like he did in Iron Man and Iron Man 2) and director Joss Whedon. I can’t even begin to wrap my head around the awesomeness assembled in this photo together. With Joss Whedon at the helm, the possibilities are endless for The Avengers to truly be the greatest superhero film of all time.
