Last night my friend Josh and I made our way to the Henry Fonda Theater to see Kelis and Robyn kick off their co-headlining All Hearts Tour in front of a packed house which was 99.9% gay. It was like church in that place, I have to tell you … but it was loads of fun:

While the tour is a co-headlining one, Kelis does go on first to get the party started. Homegirl came out in a sequined jumpsuit and a sparkly wig that looked like something Rick James might’ve worn back in the day. Now, I’ve been a Kelis fan for YEARS ever since she released her first album Kaleidoscope so I was really excited to see my girl live, on stage. I was not disappointed. Kelis KILLED her set last night. She sang hit after hit and got the crowd all riled up. I never thought it was possible for an artist to make a room full of white boys think they’ve go soul and rhythm … but Kelis did it last night. Yesterday afternoon I made my way to the ArcLight in Hollywood, CA to see Inception one week after it opened in theaters. Because I was in Paris, France last weekend I was unable to see the movie that the rest of the country already saw. I’ve been fearful all week long that someone might inadvertently spoil the film for me so I wanted to see it as soon as possible. Man, I am glad that I did … cuz the film is really freakin’ good:

I had no doubt that director Christoper Nolan would give us a great film but I was not prepared for how complex and GOOD the story would be. When dealing with a plot line that revolves around dreams, dream stealing and subconscious mind manipulation you have a wide pallet to paint with … Nolan manages to give us a film that spreads out far and wide in complexity without being too confusing. As much as there were many layers to the story (ie. the dream with in a dream with in a dream thing), I found the story easy to follow. The special effects were, I mean, just wow. I was very impressed with the acting but, to be honest, no one really stood out with a particularly stunning performance. Joseph Gordon-Levitt was my fave (there are rumors that JGL might play The Riddler in Batman 3 … I’m crossing my fingers that he does get the part), followed by Ellen Page. I was pleased that Leonardo DiCaprio didn’t annoy me like he usually does but I was a bit bummed that Marion Coutillard wasn’t as big a character as I hoped she would be. All in all, the film is great … I truly loved it. Was it my fave of the year, I don’t think so … but it is deffo worth seeing … maybe even twice.

After the movie, I met up with Josh and we made our way to the Henry Fonda Theater to see Kelis and Robyn kick off their All Hearts Tour. I’ll have a post about that show coming right up …

We are nearing the half-way point of the 3rd season of the hit HBO series True Blood and to celebrate a new video trailer was released at 2010 San Diego Comic-Con yesterday that gives us a sneak peek of what’s to come in the second half of the season. Great news Buffy fans, Jones Soda has just announced the release of an amazing new line of their delicious soda drinks (Buffy’s Blue Bubblegum, Willow’s Green Apple Witch’s Brew, Giles’s Grape Potion and more) made in honor of the Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season 8 comic book series. The soda drinks were unveiled at 2010 San Diego Comic-Con this week but they have also been made available for purchase by those of us who are not at Comic-Con this year. Here is what the Buffy Soda bottles will look like and some deets about the drinks themselves:

LOL!! How awesome is this? If HBO‘s True Blood can offer their own themed drink called Tru Blood then why can’t Buffy the Vampire Slayer have its own line of drinks? I’ve already placed my order for 2 packs of 12 bottles of this delicious-looking stuff … that way, I can drink some and save a few bottles for posterity. When last we saw photos of soccer stud and new dad Cristiano Ronaldo, he was chillin’ at home in Portugal with his mama and his newborn baby boy Cristiano, Jr. (who we never got a direct look at but the assumption is that he had his baby boy with him). Shortly thereafter, reports broke as to how Cristiano met and seduced his unplanned babymama (“Me, You, Fuck, Fuck”) and then things went quiet for a few days. Cristiano surfaced this week in Algarve in South Portugal with a bunch of his bromance homeboys … and no baby in sight:

It’s obvious that Cristiano is having no problems adjusting to fatherhood … because he’s got his mama to take care of his baby while he runs off to do whatever the hell he wants to do, with whomever he chooses. I had a feeling that Crissy would not tone down his playboy image … he seems happy to be partying with his friends while he leaves his baby boy at home to be cared for by his family. I can’t say I blame him, after all, he’s just at 25 year old kid himself. I’m not sure if we’ll be seeing any photos of Cristiano pushing is baby around in a baby pram anytime soon … but my guess is that we’ll be seeing the lad doing pretty much the same exact things he was doing before he fathered his child. Party on, Cristiano!

OK Dexter fans, today I’ve got A LOT of amazing stuff to share with all y’all!! As you may recall, filming for the upcoming 5th season of Dexter began in mid-June and just this week we got to learn a bit more about what role Julie Stiles will be playing on the show … but yesterday at 2010 San Diego Comic-Con, Showtime unloaded a whole slew of new promo items to get us amped for the upcoming 5th season. First up, the official Dexter Comic-Con poster:

This Dexter poster is part of Showtime‘s Anti-Heroes campaign (which also features characters from Weeds, Californication and Nurse Jackie). In addition to this cool poster, Showtime also released a whole slew of promo photos from the season 5 premiere ep of Dexter which will air on Showtime on Sunday September 26:

As you can see, the aftermath of the events from the season 4 finale ep of Dexter begins to unfold as soon as the new season begins. The new season promises to take Dexter Morgan into new, unknown territory … how will be be able to handle it all? Well, the season 5 trailer for Dexter might shed some light on that question.
